We have great fans. Some are sonsabitches but they’re our bastards!!!
I don't post very much but pretty much visit our board every day multiple times. We have a lot of sh*tty, disgusting excuses for fans on here many of which I have on ignore. Board would be so much better if the mods had the balls to ban the really bad ones. That was the reason I gave up premium.
Our fans are great. We all go through emotional highs and lows with the team (some with bigger swings than others), but we all are thrilled with this win.
I wouldn't trade our fans for any other fanbase.

All is good today! Pike finally played Simpson on the ball the only PG we have. Moved Paul into mags role and stopped worrying about his feelings and Paul played well. Simpson is and has been the answer just happy pike woke up

I haven't seen any of the truly miserable soles on here yet. . .
We won, probably just a coincidence though…
There were many reasons for fans to be "down" on this team. But, IMHO, a true "fan" finds a way.. even though it is a mere crevice in size.. to have some hope.
And if you are one of those fans.. you were rewarded today.
I was seeing doom ahead even before the Minnesota game because of the way we were playing. How we looked in games after Mag went down. Things had to be done to recover some of the form of what he had in the first half of the season.
And today... we did those things. Some people were off the bandwagon.. but those who the ones who jumped on it well after it started. Some people had only one foot off and now there is reason for them to stay on for more of the ride.
And if you are one of those fans.. you were rewarded today.

I try to never visit this board during any game being played. Maybe lacrosse - to get score updates.
Zap- love you my good buddy- and love the thread- but one comment I will add to a couple of follow-up posters. Not all negative posters during a seson are "crappy" fans- many just get so frustrated and so used to just always shatting the bed. But if they come in and talk the sport itself- their observations, concerns and something- even if negative- that is constructive, well- appreciate those fans.
The guys/girls that come in with the "i expected so much more" or the X player or coach just sucks- well, for those people Do you come in tomorrow with that we were lucky, going to lose tomorrow and not do anything in the Tourny - well- those are the fans just just want to be right. They have never won, they don't understand winning and have no clue as to where we came from.

To be fair- Pike has not shown the ability to coach offense. He has coached on how to win with the players he has, and if you have 3 star kids going against top 100- it is all about defense.
He has gotten us to 3/4 NCAA - never done here before. And he ha done it with less recruited talent than anyone else.
He is now showing recruiting chops- mix that in with this hard nosed team- this is where we find out if he is an elite coach or not...
I am all in at this point.
I think there is a direct correlation between people who were never good at basketball and the amount of complaining they do in Game Day threads. I am talking about those kids that you see in 7th, 8th, 9th grade gym class and laugh at them...lol
Disagree but agree- I think most are the kids that were pretty good in HS but never made the next level, even though they knew they were the next Dr J...and it was never their fault.

In addition, Pikiell said Woolfolk was going thru A LOT later in the season with his sick Grandmother who eventually passed away during the season. The Grandmother that helped raise him.
He’s simply working with what he has. Saying he can’t coach offense because a team with one above average shooter isn’t efficient is a dumb argument. If we struggle offensively with 5 stars then we can’t talk.

Not sure why. Aren’t we now 3-0 in post Mag games where we didn’t jump out to an early 7+ first half lead and winless in all the other games where we played well early and tanked? Early leads have been the kiss of death for us lately for some reason.
