After debating, I got the vaccine (and am now questioning that decision). But I am not going to give the vaccine to my kids. Some interesting info on kids vaccine:

The fact they're pushing it so hard on kids as well as making it sound like Kids should be masked all day err day. Kids are the least susceptible to the virus. The death rate for school age children is almost non-existent. so to push the Vax and masks on them is ludicrous at best.
That's the teachers' unions control over the CDC & Biden.
I recall a vaccine that came out when my oldest daughter was younger that was supposed to prevent cervical cancer. Doctors were pushing it but it wasn't a mandatory vaccine and my wife didn't get it for my daughter. A few years later it came out that it was actually causing cancer.
Yeah but that vaccine wasn’t extensively tested like the covid vaccine.
It’s emergency approved for 12-17 year olds and not even approved for kids under 12... and yet they’re pushing for all kids to get the vaccine. The flu is a greater risk to young kids... but we don’t see them pushing for the flu shot at this level. It’s absurd.
My friend asked his doctor about getting vaccinated. He’s 34. His doctor told him he didn’t think he needed it based on his age and health and that his kids (3 and 1) absolutely did not need it and it would be crazy to even consider it.
It's no wonder my district had to replace 30+ teachers this year with only 5 having experience and some didn't even major in education. Sadly they had no choice because nobody wants to teach anymore and they had to get someone in the classroom. However, I see why they don't want to teach when they get blamed for everything from little Johnny not being a rocket scientist despite the fact his parents never make him come to school and when he does he doesn't do his homework, to being the reason the government wants kids to get the COVID shot.
So are you saying they can just roll out a vaccine without being extensively tested and not knowing long term effects? Well that doesn't seem safe and sure doesn't ensure confidence in our health care system.

my anecdote...my 5 yr old had the virus and it was probably the easiest cold he's had. low fever, broke over night and then it was over. If his school wasnt on quarantine for a case, i doubt we would've known. I got tested and hit a +
We didnt test him at the time, but had AB tests right after.
Me and him had a different cold a couple months later that was much tougher as far as coughing, congestion and all that other crud.

I don't recall the name of the vaccine but I can ask my wife for you. If I remember correctly they started wanting to give it to her around the age of 10 or so but I may be wrong.
United Kingdom is only recommending the vac for kids if the child has comorbidities or lives with someone with comorbidities.

HPV vaccine? That's the only one I can think of. Google found a retracted study linking it to increased cervical cancer.
I heard the Lexington-Fayette school board is going to force child vaccinations. Children and parents who don’t comply will be forced into work camps.

They forget it because it's not true. In order to classify something as "gene therapy" it must alter DNA. Pfizer/Moderna injections do not alter DNA.....hence, they are vaccines and not gene therapy.
They are fairly experimental, but not as much as most think.
-Some believe that the RNA technology has never been used - Wrong. RNA vaccines and research has been around for 20+ yrs......and there have been vaccines even for the Coronavirus family over the last 10+ yrs. The difference this time around is that it's being done at an unprecedented scale.
-Some believe that you can't possibly know the side effects of the vaccine - Well, sort of. While this particular vaccine for this particular strain for Covid might yield some side effects that are unknown......RNA vaccines have been used for a while now and have been used on the Corona family without many side effects.
-Some believe that the vaccines were rushed and were not tested. - Wrong.....well, at least officially. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines went through every bit of testing that any other drug/medication goes through. The only reason why they got this through to production so fast was cutting down on the red-tape and politcs. Is it possible that corners were cut and data falsified? Sure it's possible, but every conspiracy theorist around the world, every health organization (CDC, WHO, etc), every individual country's gov't, every competitor (Johnson&Johnson, AstraZeneca, etc) is digging, digging, digging for dirt on Pfizer/Moderna.

Our grandson who just turned 16 got it as soon as it was approved for his age group and after his parents talked to the Dr. Our granddaughters (ages 2, 4 & 8) will also get it if their doctors recommend it if/when the time comes, according to what our kids said.
Good post. The vaccines are safe, but it's a personal decision. IMO not getting vaxxed is a poor decision, but to each his own. Nobody should be forced to take it if they don't want it.
That said, my hope is that people make this decision based on the sound medical advice of their trusted family doctor or pediatrician and not based on their own research or social media.

Refreshing just to see upfront information about the vaccine. PR in the U.S. never just gives the facts. Failure to do so has folks wanting to kill each other.
The vaccine is good if we just focus on what it does & does not do.
1. The vaccine will NOT eliminate COVID. Blows my mind how many think it will; it simply decreases significantly the odds of getting serious illness.
2. Vaccinated people can & are still getting COVID, but avoiding serious illness. Much of the public thinks the vaccine eliminates them getting COVID.
3. Vaccinated people who get infected with COVID can still transmit it. So many think otherwise because of bad messaging & the stupid mandate talk. Unvaccinated people are only a threat to themselves possibly getting seriously sick, but are no threat to vaccinated.
**If we just focus on the true purpose of the vaccine & all of our public officials would know & share the whole truth intentionally we might could diffuse all the tension about the vaccine.
The kid talk & vaccines needs to end IMMEDIATELY except in cases the UK has pointed out.
