I think SC has a good shot of winning this game if they can hold onto the football. They will play hard to the end. They run the ball good as well as throwing it. Their defense is stout and good. They just can't give up the big plays. They have a very good kicker which could win the game. I saw him hit from 40 yards during warm-ups against Whiteville.
I believe Kinston is in the drivers seat, the main obstacle for the Ktown coaches is a basketball. If players show up like they have for most of the season,kinston has the possibility/potential to be sitting at the eastern championship game. I know it’s a stretch but it’s my wild card pic.
Ok. For those that are, the Stallion Club will be selling fresh link sausage dogs and old fashioned bbq so no need to stop and eat anywhere.
Kinston may win but they are not good. Awful upfront and playing JK and Wallace close says more about them then what it says about Kinston.
I'll be surprised if you see the parents of the players, much less regular fans. If it was basketball, their crowd would outnumber the home fans, but football is just something they do until basketball season rolls around. Even when we played at their place in the Eastern finals, a game in which the winner goes to the state championship, our crowd outnumbered theirs.
Agreed. I was looking at the schedule they played when the preliminary bracket had Whiteville paired with them in the second round.
They play in one of the tougher conferences in our area and faired pretty well. I haven’t seen them, so I can’t say for sure.
Agreed. They are USUALLY a tough conference but not so much this year. ED lost to West Craven.
Both those teams have really had some critical injuries this season. I believe in that particular game East Duplin lost two of their top players one being the starting rb and best defensive player early on which w/o a doubt gave West Craven a big advantage. Then a game or so later West Craven lost their star quarterback. That was a devastating loss. The qb was really good and one of the best in the east. If both these teams were at full strength they would be a threat to make a run.
That was just a tough first round draw.

Yep, I hate for SC, they had one of their best seasons in a long time. I hope they have a great off season. Great job Kinston!!! ECC! ECC! ECC!!!
I knew Kinston was going to be a tough one for South.
Kinston is going to be tough for teams that aren’t used to defending the pass.
