What do we do with the millions of Black Americans who do not want the shot because of historical precedent? Half of the white population has encouraged black paranoia, but now? We’re just going to ignore this?
The mandate came out as a direct result of the Afghanistan mess. It was a redirection effort. This is not debatable.
I appreciate your post o your life experiences. I definitely was not saying I know how you came up, but that maybe right now you’ve forgotten that some people can’t quit their job. What do you think we should do with a black man who doesn’t want the vaccine because he doesn’t trust you, but can’t quit his job? Some of you need to start answering this question. It’s pretty important to the discussion.
Nope. I very much understand that you can't quit your job. But I also understand that there IS a choice. If due to whatever factor--you feel you have to make one choice over the other, then make it.
I want the pandemic to end. I want to stop having an ICU full of people who thought they knew their own risk.
I don't know how to combat the mistrust of the African American community. Over half of the world has been vaccinated and there is a wealth of data that the vaccine is safe. I can't speak to the crimes of Tuskegee.
I'm literally just here to talk about the vaccine +/- the NBA. Maybe it was announced when it was as a way to take attention from Afghanistan. Afghanistan was a huge screw up. Lots of things Biden has done have been huge screw ups. I'm with you on that.
If you've got natural immunity, I don't think you need to rush out and take the vaccine. I think there's a reasonable middle ground. When I start a new job, I have to get titers to check my antibody levels against Hep B and other things. I think there's a reasonable middle ground where if you've got the appropriate level of antibodies--then you don't have to have the shot. But if you dip below that line--shot or quit.
