The growth is unreal around the Lake Norman area. Have to wander how many students will be going in another 2-3 years. A lot of growth is coming along around the South Iredell area.

Instead of build houses and apartment buildings. They need to build another High School in that area for South Iredell and Lake Norman.

I did hear on WSIC news of Iredell/Statesville that a new HS is in the plan to be built by 2024/25. Not far from South Iredell High. Design to hold up to 1600 students. Probably start out as a smaller school which I’m sure will pull some students from South Iredell.

I’m just scratching my head at their OOC. Are those big gates for them? Come playoff time they’ll be playing Grimsley, Vance, CC, Weddington, Butler, etc. How does that prepare them for that?

I guess they are keeping it as county games in the non conference. I know for South Iredell I was hoping for stiffer non conference games to help prepare them for the conference. Statesville is South’s big rival and I understand and glad they kept them on the schedule. In all truthfulness when it comes to playoffs they are just outclassed when comes to these big time playoff teams.

Iredell co must play Iredell co teams in Non conference that’s the rule and that’s why you have WI,NI and Statesville on the schedule

I’m sure LN n SI would agree but that’s the rules that ISS has so
So great, why play Alexander County?? I get they have to schedule under some restrictions but all I heard last year was how they were overlooked after only losing to Hough and Vance. If you want to be recognized as a top flight program go play someone. Take that grind it out offense down to Brynes or go handle Richmond or Butler. Then I will listen when you speak.

I'm not saying they didn't try but sometimes you have to get who you can get when trying to fill out a schedule. Esp if you have a rule where you have to play certain teams from your county. This could really be an issue this year with realignment and schools going to new cons. Need those dates to line up for both teams. I can remember Crest having to play The Q Foundation just to fill out their schedule because they couldn't get a game with anyone else. Maybe a team like Byrnes or Richmond don't see a benefit right now by playing them. I don't know a lot about the Lake Norman program but Lake Norman vs _______ doesn't scream primetime matchup as an outsider looking in. Get a few years of advancing deep into the playoffs and those games will start to happen.

I have LKN as the number 3 in conference, but subject to change based on a couple things I’ve hear around the water cooler.
