What are NU's chances against VaTech? 2-1 in this tournament would open some eyes.
With all the babies we're playing who knows. A couple of guys hit a few early shots and gains some confidence and anything could happen. We clearly don't match up with UCLA.

I wouldn't consider sophomores will a full year of Big Ten basketball under their belts babies.

Probably not going to win this game, but I'm encouraged by what I am seeing against a team this caliber. Plenty to work on, but we are hanging.

UCLA just has too many offensive weapons, but I am encouraged by this effort. Watson and Morrow showing that they can play against anyone.

It's nice to see that the moment isn't too big for the NU basketball team. They're not likely to win this, but they are competing and not rolling over.

It feels like we are down more that 7. This game has the feel of one where we are getting blown out, but we are fighting and keeping ourselves in it.

Huskers got a bit rattled by the UCLA zone. Just stay aggressive and get to the basket.

Need someone else besides Watson and Webster to step up on the offensive end.

Again...after what we saw from the NU football team today, it is really nice to see the hoops team play hard, smart, and not be intimidated. Win or lose, Miles' team impressed tonight.

not gonna git er done if you can't knock down 3's against their zone. We've missed I think 3-4 open 3s now in the last few possessions.

Got to find a way to get some points against this zone besides popping 3s.

Watson is the nutz of this team. McVeigh or Gill needs to help offensively if we want to ever beat good teams

You know, I think our football team did play hard. I really do. They made too many mistakes on defensive assignments and our QB didn't make the plays he could have but I didn't see anybody dogging it.

Exactly. Jacking 3s is what the opposing coach wants you to do when he shifts to a zone. You can still get the ball inside, it just requires more movement without the ball.

Well he shifts to the zone to prevent you from getting the ball inside and it works. It isn't that he wants you to shoot 3s so much as it is that he doesn't want you shooting bunnies.

That drive by Webster switching to his left hand against a double team was nice. His experience this summer is really showing.
