I don't think Urban was in the equation, but I do think it's because Jimbo probably turned them down and there were no other good options compared to Miles after him.
Has nothing to do with that. If boosters had enough to get a better coach he'd be gone.
I tend to agree with you. I think they probably did have enough, I just think the guy they wanted, Fisher, turned them down and after that there were no other options as good as Miles or politically palatable compared to Miles.
If the admin really wanted to shoot the boosters down they would have come out with strong support as soon as all these rumors came out but instead they let him dangle in the wind right up until the end of the game.
My waning faith in the goodness of American sport has been restored. For now. This is one guy that if he were fired it would have been a travesty. So he has a hard time beating Nick Saban of late? Hello?!?! Look around...so has most of the country. I like Jimbo but not sure he'd be faring much better.

what a difference from Flood's situation--Miles has won 75% of his games at LSU , earlier this year LSU was one of the top 3 ranked teams , has reputed the #1 recruiting class in the nation and there was still speculation about him losing his job despite the enormous buyout that he would be paid. Incredible....
