....his time has come as almost all agree.

He was instrumental in the best MSU sports memories I have. I hope this decision was/is amicable and we can continue to have a good relationship.

Agree with the thanks. But I would have to put the Final Four and the football team winning the West as my best sports memories. But Rick is responsible for a majority of my better sports memories.</p>

...and he brought us an SEC championship and many great wins.

He had a great run here. He's been run down enough. This is a great day, but we owe the man a lot of thanks.

he is the all time winningest coach in our history. If Sherrill gets honored(which he should), Stansbury should be honored 3 times.

I'm glad the change is being made, but I am glad this is going down smoothly. I wanted a change, but I agree that Rick needs to be honored. I think him stepping down now can only help his legacy in the long run, not that it should need much help.

In his tenure at MSU Rick has done as much for an athletic program as anyone has for our school. I personally appreciate everything he has contributed as a Bulldog, and everything his family has given to MSU. Thank you Rick and thank you Meo.

Despite what gets posted on message boards by nameless, faceless cowards, the MSU family is grateful for you and you time with us. I hope you stay at MSU and in Starkville as long as you want.

as I've said before MSU, in the HISTORY of the school, has never won an NCAA tournament game when Stansbury was not on staff. No doubt even his body language seems to say he's lost his fire and it is time to make a change BUT I still feel its about 50/50 on going down rather than up with a coaching replacement. He has definitely done a lot for the MSU BB program over the years. I think this is probably the right move but I'm not convinced its the right move. Now with Croom and Polk I was absolutely convinced it was the right move. We will see what happens.
