the easiest way to spot fake Christians is to present them with something difficult they are explicitly commanded to do by Jesus, like give all your money away
Is this Q where you got the ape-chimp mating story of your heritage?Electoral map looking great! The GOP can’t help but keep falling over themselves and will make the idiotic decision to run trump, just handing us the election! From a state and election standpoint it’s been hilarious of late. You see the party of George Santos continues to fall over themselves and break their support in every key swing area. We have the Mom’s for Liberty for ensuring local school boards in every swing district go left, and now their leader is a little bit ménage….
2024 is shaping up to be the biggest landslide election since Reagan instead in favor of the democrats. The fact that Q has you in such an echo chamber that you don’t see it coming is genuinely quite indicative to your critical thinking skills.
Talk to me after November 24’ make sure you bring that same energy! What happens when trump loses again and blames it on ‘stolen elections’, you gonna run him again in 28’?![]()
agree, Oregon is loaded top to bottom and 1 to 99. no let up by some not playingSeems unlikely, the talent gap is so huge.
I am the poster you are referring to. I have made a point to stay out of this mess. But since you are mis-representing my statement, please allow me to clarify.I don't think anyone is saying not believing in "young earth" is anti-Christian. One poster specifically stated he was biased against those that do believe that though, and then a handful of others headed by @RU848789 raged against and insulted those that believe in God and Creation.
They are "teaching it" because it's part of their belief system. Young earth creationism believes that God created the earth and universe fully-formed and fully-functional. I assume Liberty also teaches Adam and Eve created as fully-formed adult humans. Are you biased against that also?I am the poster you are referring to. I have made a point to stay out of this mess. I never said, nor would I ever say, that I am biased against anyone who believes in young earth. If that's what you believe, I think you're wrong, but you do you.
What I did say (and it was really just a throwaway line at the close of my football-related comment) is that I am biased against Liberty University for presenting the young earth theory as a legitimate topic of academic debate. Which they do. They teach it in SCIENCE classes. It is not science. It just isn't.
For that, I was immediately attacked for my "anti-Christian rhetoric". I defended myself by pointing out that I am a practicing Christian and had participated in my church's services that very day. For that, I was further attacked, not quite sure why.
That is the extent of my contribution to this thread, I disavow responsibility for what happened thereafter.

No, I did not.You could just say you misspoke.
Because you objectively did.
No, I did not.
OK since you asked...They are "teaching it" because it's part of their belief system. Young earth creationism believes that God created the earth and universe fully-formed and fully-functional. Excellent post.OK since you asked...
Liberty University is a religious institution and can teach whatever religious dogma it wants. Including those which the majority of Christians, myself included, disagree with. It's all good.
What I object to is their intentional attempt to disguise that dogma as science.
I am a Catholic. I believe in dogma, such as the Eucharist, which my non-believer compadres in this thread would consider batshit crazy. I totally get that. To a non-believer, it IS batshit crazy. Because it is an article of faith. Not science.
When you merge religious belief with scientific certainty, you run into problems. My church once persecuted folks who dared assert the heresy that the earth revolved around the sun, rather than vice versa. Thankfully, we outgrew that.
I have deep respect for both universities. I hate their football teams. You may bash away.So I guess every Catholic should be incensed every time someone bashes Notre Dame or BC. Which happens multiple times a week ...
since we're going with no differentiation between bashing an institution vs an entire group of people.
I think they do win it. Not because they’re better overall, just because they care. Oregon’s starters don’t care, their fans don’t want to go.Did anyone think Tulane would hang with USC last year in the Cotton Bowl? We know one team will be motivated and won't have anyone sitting out for draft prep. Maybe Liberty will win it.
Is this Q where you got the ape-chimp mating story of your heritage?
Show us the receipts of ND/BC getting "bashed" here for teaching what they believe as their faith. Apples and oranges franny, but I bet you thought it sounded smart when you were typing it out lol.So I guess every Catholic should be incensed every time someone bashes Notre Dame or BC. 30+ that's after the first quarter.I would guess higher
OK do you actually know what they are teaching as the science behind young earth theory? Can you provide any examples of the actual information presented? I have sat-in on presentations from Bible-believing biologists and engineers that present scientific-based information on both young earth and old earth theories. Don't forget, to God a day is a 1,000 years and a 1,000 years is a day. Here's what I found in a quick search:OK since you asked...

Which just goes to show you how important bowl games are now. If it's a good match-up it matters; if it's not, which is many bowls in an age when 5-win teams can go, it doesn't matter.I think they do win it. Not because they’re better overall, just because they care. Oregon’s starters don’t care, their fans don’t want to go.
It’s not just Oregon but Ohio State doesn’t care. 2/3 of their regular season starters are either in the portal or have opted out.
PennState’s has a handful of players opting out. Georgia & FSU both will have different rosters than they would have if they made the playoffs
Our kids haven’t played in a bowl, some played in the Covid gift game. So this in a new experience for many of them. So I expect them to be excited and play hard.
Wrong again, I'm not deflecting at all. I don't need to waste time commenting on all your political opinions here, bring it to the CE Board and we can go at it. As I noted before, it's only your lib buds that post about this "Q" on the CE so I don't know what information you guys and gals find on it.sick deflection!
Did Sky Daddy really take a man’s rib to make a woman out of it as he created the world in 7 days? Did a snake really talk to Adam and Eve and was able to be more persuasive than God? Did men walk with Dinosaurs? After god wiped out the population outside of Noah and his family who crossed the Atlantic to settle in the new world? How’d they get here considering that would have occurred 5000 or so years ago per religious text?
More likely an ape and a chimp got busy![]()
I don’t even think the match up matters. Georgia & FSU would be a great match up. Problem is it’s not a playoff game, So kids opted out. While good for younger kids, it lost a lot of sizzle. Playoff expansion will fix those games. The best bowls moving forward will be the ones that involve teams who unfortunately have realistically been eliminated ever being playoff teams.Which just goes to show you how important bowl games are now. If it's a good match-up it matters; if it's not, which is many bowls in an age when 5-win teams can go, it doesn't matter.
Yup, those darn Ivy Leaguers. I am truly ashamed that my son went to Dartmouth.
FYI: Anti-gay, anti-trans, anti-islamic bias are ok, desirable even. Anti-christian is not. Christians are innocent, persecuted people.
To your question: when we scheduled Liberty a few years back, it was considered controversial on this board. Someone posted a syllabus of an entry-level Earth Science or Geology class, in which the "young earth" and "old earth" theories were presented side by side. As a class assignment, the students would be asked to assess and critique the two.OK do you actually know what they are teaching as the science behind young earth theory? Can you provide any examples of the actual information presented? I have sat-in on presentations from Bible-believing biologists and engineers that present scientific-based information on both young earth and old earth theories. Don't forget, to God a day is a 1,000 years and a 1,000 years is a day. Here's what I found in a quick search:
This week, Liberty University students will have the opportunity to see one of their professors, Dr. Marcus Ross, present the case for young-earth creationism (YEC) on the big screen, using his expertise in geology to show how scientific evidence supports this view. The film “Is Genesis History?,” featuring Dr. Del Tackett of Focus on the Family’s Truth Project, is being shown during a one-night national theatrical release on Thursday, Feb. 23, with hundreds of locations hosting the film. A showing will be held in Lynchburg at 7 p.m. at the Regal River Ridge Stadium 14.
“Is Genesis History?” explores a number of scientific topics in the context of the Bible. Thirteen scientists and scholars share their expertise, making a positive argument for biblical creation and Noah’s flood. From rock layers to fossils, and from lions to stars, the film challenges the way viewers see the world. (Young-earth creationists believe that the creation days of Genesis 1 were six literal, 24-hour days, which occurred several thousand years ago and that Noah’s flood was global and had a profound impact upon the fossil record.)

I'd burn the money before paying for a child to attend an Ivy League school. Most of the Liberty fanboys have no children- obviously- but the few who do would NEVER send their children there or Hillsdale or any other CEsspool. They would to the Ivies or RU if their kid didn't have their genes and could be admitted.
Apparently a lot of them really believe it, too. The problem is that even though the rhetoric against whites, males and Christians HAS gone over the top--I disagree vehemently with where too many on the left have gone--there's no evidence it's led to any discrimination. So they're whining about being bad-mouthed--even as they bad mouth everyone they dislike. Welcome to every single day being gay or trans. They will tell you "straight" white "Christian" "men" are the most persecuted people on the planet.
Live and let live. As he--once again--bashes gays. If those on the right demand respect they need to start by giving it.ahhhh bigotry at it's finest but say you think two men sleeping together is sick and whooooah Nelly!
some of you literally filled with hate
live and let live people
see , that is where you lose everyone. No one bashed anyone but gave a clear example of a hypocrisy here. You just confirmed that hypocrisy. You are smart enough to see that.Live and let live. As he--once again--bashes gays. If those on the right demand respect they need to start by giving it.
No, you know what you meant. Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining. You defended gay baiting. And I know the views of the people on this board. They make them very clear. I've seen them for years because board mods are ok with certain biases.see , that is where you lose everyone. No one bashed anyone but gave a clear example of a hypocrisy here. stick to football where your views are on point, leave all the CE stuff out.
c'mon, you are smarter than this. stop being emotional and defensive and open your eyes. You are committing the very same 'sin' you are accusing the liberty guys of.No, you know what you meant. Let me explain something to you: gay people are still subjected to daily attacks, derision and criticism. FYI: WE GET IT. Some of you don't like us and are furious that there are now other people who defend our right to live our lives as we choose. It doesn't have to be repeated endlessly--yet it is. Singling out defense of gays as bullying wokeness is just another way to harass gays. You could've picked any other group but it's defense of gays that you singled out as so unfair. You rose to the defense of gay bashing, not anti-semitism or islamaphobia, gay bashing.c'mon, you are smarter than this. stop being emotional and defensive and open your eyes. You are committing the very same 'sin' you are accusing the liberty guys of.
ok then...I'd burn the money before paying for a child to attend an Ivy League school.
brg- you and I bash heads quite often in the football related threads- but I agree with you many times in regards to these things.Let me explain something to you: gay people are still subjected to daily attacks, derision and criticism. Unfortunately some on the left have gone overboard in their rhetoric and it's added to a backlash, a backlash that would've happened anyway but is being made worse with aggressive rhetoric. It's so out of control that as a white gay man I've now been singled out by other gays as racist and transphobic simply by virtue of being white. So, ironically, I now get to be abused by gay haters AND a large selection of people on the left, who tell me I have it easy! And honestly I'm just trying to live my life as I see fit. None of the critics were there for me during my health crisis and don't give a damn about me so really they can ALL go f themselves.brg- you and I bash heads quite often in the football related threads- but I agree with you many times in regards to these things.
Gays have been so attacked from so many angles for so many years, it is crazy. Even in todays world- many groups we are so strong in supporting for human rights- openly attack gays. The right to marriages and benefits is one of this countries greatest accomplishments-but, some groups and individuals- still think it is some great sin or contagious.
On the other hand- there is often the "sub" groups that hurt the actual cause itself- for gays, now we have the ultra trans groups that just want and hate everything. No- a man should not be able to compete with women because he classifies himself. And anyone with an opinion is the next coming of Hitler.
Blacks- there is no where to hide- you cant act , speak or dress different- you skin is your skin.
But many- just feel the skin color matters.
Religion- they all believe there is some greater creator- but since they can't agree on the story- it creates wars.
We need to live- enjoy life and respect others. I don't understand why that is so damn difficult.
Dang- and I only just dont like your posts.....sorry- couldn't resist.Unfortunately some on the left have gone overboard in their rhetoric and it's added to a backlash, a backlash that would've happened anyway but is being made worse with aggressive rhetoric.
