I am the poster you are referring to. I have made a point to stay out of this mess. But since you are mis-representing my statement, please allow me to clarify.
I never said, nor would I ever say, that I am biased against anyone who believes in young earth. If that's what you believe, I think you're wrong, but you do you.
What I did say (and it was really just a throwaway line at the close of my football-related comment) is that I am biased against Liberty University for presenting the young earth theory as a legitimate topic of academic debate. Which they do. They teach it in SCIENCE classes. It is not science. It just isn't.
For that, I was immediately attacked for my "anti-Christian rhetoric". I defended myself by pointing out that I am a practicing Christian and had participated in my church's services that very day. For that, I was further attacked, not quite sure why.
That is the extent of my contribution to this thread, I disavow responsibility for what happened thereafter.
They are "teaching it" because it's part of their belief system. Young earth creationism believes that God created the earth and universe fully-formed and fully-functional. I assume Liberty also teaches Adam and Eve created as fully-formed adult humans. Are you biased against that also?

Liberty University is a religious institution and can teach whatever religious dogma it wants. Including those which the majority of Christians, myself included, disagree with. It's all good.
What I object to is their intentional attempt to disguise that dogma as science.
I am a Catholic. I believe in dogma, such as the Eucharist, which my non-believer compadres in this thread would consider batshit crazy. I totally get that. To a non-believer, it IS batshit crazy. Because it is an article of faith. Not science.
When you merge religious belief with scientific certainty, you run into problems. My church once persecuted folks who dared assert the heresy that the earth revolved around the sun, rather than vice versa. Thankfully, we outgrew that.

PennState’s has a handful of players opting out. Georgia & FSU both will have different rosters than they would have if they made the playoffs

OK do you actually know what they are teaching as the science behind young earth theory? Can you provide any examples of the actual information presented? I have sat-in on presentations from Bible-believing biologists and engineers that present scientific-based information on both young earth and old earth theories. Don't forget, to God a day is a 1,000 years and a 1,000 years is a day. Here's what I found in a quick search:

I'm also not your Bible researcher brah, I'd suggest you consult with a Bible pro like as a well-respected pastor in reading and understanding the Bible. But I will suggest you read about the Tower of Babel described in Genesis 11, after Noah in Genesis 6, regarding your question about the migration of man.

I don’t even think the match up matters. Georgia & FSU would be a great match up. Problem is it’s not a playoff game, So kids opted out. While good for younger kids, it lost a lot of sizzle. Playoff expansion will fix those games. The best bowls moving forward will be the ones that involve teams who unfortunately have realistically been eliminated ever being playoff teams.
Most of the Liberty fanboys have no children- obviously- but the few who do would NEVER send their children there or Hillsdale or any other CEsspool. They would to the Ivies or RU if their kid didn't have their genes and could be admitted.

To your question: when we scheduled Liberty a few years back, it was considered controversial on this board. Someone posted a syllabus of an entry-level Earth Science or Geology class, in which the "young earth" and "old earth" theories were presented side by side. As a class assignment, the students would be asked to assess and critique the two.

brg- you and I bash heads quite often in the football related threads- but I agree with you many times in regards to these things.
Gays have been so attacked from so many angles for so many years, it is crazy. Even in todays world- many groups we are so strong in supporting for human rights- openly attack gays. The right to marriages and benefits is one of this countries greatest accomplishments-but, some groups and individuals- still think it is some great sin or contagious.
On the other hand- there is often the "sub" groups that hurt the actual cause itself- for gays, now we have the ultra trans groups that just want and hate everything. No- a man should not be able to compete with women because he classifies himself. And anyone with an opinion is the next coming of Hitler.
Blacks- there is no where to hide- you cant act , speak or dress different- you skin is your skin.
But many- just feel the skin color matters.
Religion- they all believe there is some greater creator- but since they can't agree on the story- it creates wars.
We need to live- enjoy life and respect others. I don't understand why that is so damn difficult.

It's so out of control that as a white gay man I've now been singled out by other gays as racist and transphobic simply by virtue of being white.
