State and Ole Miss can't have nice things. We are going to tear down each other if either one gets good.

Yancy is now reporting that Will Redmond wants to transfer to Ole Miss.

Yep...and Denzel Kimdeechy called Collins after the story broke today to see if we had room for him and his brother

Never said there was validity to the story. Just saying this is proof that when either one has any success, it's time to tear them down. The state just doesn't have enough resources (players, fans, money) for both teams to be good for extended period of times.

Yancy must be auditioning for the CL. PJ is reporting it is 100% a lie and that Will told him that.

I think we could easily have two successful teams. We just act like spoiled two year olds that can't play together in the same sandbox. Add to that that neither one of us knows how to handle any success. Oh you won 9 games last year? HOW IN THE HELL DID YOU NOT MAKE THE BCS THIS YEAR OUR COACHES SUCK OUR PLAYERS DON'T CARE IT'S OLE MISS/MSU'S FAULT THE MEDIA HATES US AGGHGHGHGH EVERYBODY PANIC!

I agree with your main point but add the other things I said - it's the reason both can't be good for an extended number of years.

Neither one of us will ever pull off what Bama is doing...

That hardly ever happens anyway. I think we're blinded by the fact that the most successful program in history is 80 miles from our campus. Precious few programs can win 10+ games year in and year out, even the one's that are the only team in a state. Ole Miss and MSU could easily... very, very easily... both be the types of programs that go to bowl games every single year and occasionally surprise some folks with a magical run. Every fan base that isn't psychotic would **** themselves for that. We just want to make sure the other one is as low as possible while we pipe dream the BCS every damn year. It's got nothing to do with resources and money. It's got everything to do with being dubmasses.

ETA: I realize I'm pissing into the wind when we live in a world where people pay Gene Swindoll (or anyone for that matter) money to evaluate recruiting classes.

The amazing thing is those goobers on the Spirit lap that **** up as fast as he

can throw it out there. It is a truly amazing group over there, comical and
juvenile beyond belief.

Speaking of what Bama is doing....

How is it that Bama and Auburn don't tear each other down under the table and in front of the NCAA?

Until Redmondgate happened, I really thought MSU and OM had reached that point. I thought MSU and OM boosters learned that both can be more successful by not screwing with each other.

Because they contain their crazies to Finebaum and one football game a year.

I can see 6-8 wins, yes.

As in 8 for one, 6 for the other. Exactly like this year, just way more often. Then one of us lands an Eli or a '99 defense and makes a run.

We need an agreement between MSU and Ole Miss. Kind of like the guy in "The Beautiful Mind"...the game theory of cooperation. That way we can share recruits and both win.

Uhhhh. You do realize people could say the same thing about this board, right? I'm not defending the whackos over there but this board has almost been as bad as the Spirit the last couple of days.

And it was such an obvious lie that I'm surprised even Yancy went with it. It's almost like he put it out on a bet to prove to someone that he can get people to bite on any ******** he puts out.

You don't think they do this? It goes back at least 20 years, and I am sure more. Auburn people paid Gene Jelks to squeal. From then until now with Cam, TJ Yeldon, Brent Calloway, Cyrus Kouandjo, Reuben Foster and more....they are at each other's throats constantly.

They do it constantly. But they both also have the resources to be good constantly too. That's the only difference in AL and MS, they have more people therefore more money.

I agree with this

and to take it a step further, I actually think it would help each of us make sporadic runs at 10+ win seasons if we are both consistently decent. Whether we like it or not, we are tied together in most of the country's minds. The more eyeballs we get shifted towards the state as a whole (not talking about investigations) helps us both.

Along those same lines, the further MS moves into the present century as opposed to being stuck in the 1950s, the better for both programs.

I will agree that this board has not been at its best since the eggbowl beatdown

but most of the crap here is tongue in cheek whereas on the Spirit they actually
believe what they are being told and take it to the bank. Most here are in it for the
laughs.

That's why I would totally support combining the two programs and in very short order start beating the **** out of Bama, LSU and everyone else...

That kind of success would unite the fan bases to the point of having Coach34 wearing red pants in a "grove" located halfway between MSU and UM!

What's this "we" ****?

Mississippi State operatives are too scared/wimpy to fight for a recruit or a player. Not only that, but we'll probably give him his release because MState Athletics folks are too scared/wimpy/weak/effeminate.
