Cheerduck, bless you my friend, you made us a thread; it means a lot, a big thank you. Tonight's game brought back memories from a few years ago. We had some success passing and running and the defense did really well.
GrizzlyDevil, who had a family connection on both teams (That's correct, both teams), was in Lincolnton for the game. It was truly a special night for us. Somebody said one of the old, old, old Wolves had run off and was in the stadium and when they located him he wouldn't leave. Guess he was having a special night, too.
On the downside, GD, said seven Bandys starters were injured, six with lower leg injuries for which I am very sorry and wish them well.
Maiden Creek, thank you so much for keeping me and some other Wolves updated on the West Lincoln at Bunker Hill game.
Notanyonesfan, thanks for saying something.

Friends, I'll tell you, even though this was just one game, I'm pretty excited. We haven't played like this since 2016. I started not to take my blood pressure pill, (it's called simvastatin, sounds like elastic underwear) when I got home but self-control got the better of me.
Hell, I might stay up all night.

321 North, the Bears are for real. West is physical and can wear another team down with that big horse of a running back they have but BH wasn't having none of it.

Also, I'm glad you got to see the Lincolnton game. I wonder what the total penalty yardage is going to look like.

The Wolves 2-1 in CVAC …2-4 Overall.

Here are total points per quarter for their 6 games…

1st qtr. 0
2nd qtr. 20
3rd qtr. 42
4th qtr. 25

Wolves figure out how to score in the 1st qtr…..they’re gonna be a handful.

Letting the Wolves hang around until halftime is not an effective way to beat them. The Wolves have proven to be a 2nd half team!

Speaks volumes about their physicality….they’ll wear you down. Kudos to coaching as well… with successful halftime adjustments.

Great wins for Lincolnton over Bandys and Newton!
A lot of us over in Maiden are saying…Oh Boy!….Here we go again! 😜

OC, thank you my friend. All of us Lincolnton sorts were so hungry for this kind of win. It was like getting a good nights sleep. Congratulations on another Bulldog victory. Thomasville has scored more points in their last two games than we've scored all season.

Maiden Creek, thank you for the numbers and a smart assessment. I agree with you. In last night's first half Bandys stuffed us. we managed to keep them out of the end zone with the exception of one spectacular pass in which their receiver just out athleticized the Wolves defender who cut him a flip, but he still held onto the ball.
About Maiden versus Lincolnton, the commentators (not Lincolnton people) on the Lincolnton radio station (which is in a group of other stations) were talking about what our chances are of beating the Blue devils, and it wasn't flattering (for us). They used the blind squirrel finding an acorn analogy.
I know you'll be going up to Lenoir this evening. I always enjoyed going to games at West Caldwell, it's a pretty location on the side of a hill, and it smells like pine trees, there.

SPRaiders78, thank you for saying something. I'm sorry about last night. I know that was a disappointment but it might be good motivation for next week against a good Kings Mountain team. I'll be pulling for you.

Cheerduck, thank you again for the thread and the kind words. I never sat last night. Every time I looked at the clock in the fourth quarter there were eight minutes left and I'd think "that's enough time for them to come back".
I know you're happy about The Tornadoes disassembling of crosstown St. Stephens. Straighten me out, doesn't some very close family teach there? If so, you have to be careful.:)

Thanks LawnDog, we sure needed it...I was sitting here telling myself that we have the same overall record as Burns except that ours is turned around backwards.;)

Good luck against TJ next Friday. They’re a little tough but not Bulldog tough.

My eldest tries to educate those children of Springs Road during their allotted English time. God bless her. The Tornadoes totally dominated the Indians. Even though they are down, they were beaten at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. My daughter told me it was because they were young. I hated to tell her the Red Tornadoes are just as young. As Mike Singletary said once to his opponent, "looks like we're going to be here for awhile".

Cheerduck, I was thinking like some of the family taught there. I hope she doesn’t get too mad at you but it looks like they have to put up with the Tornadoes besting them for quite a while.

Tvilledog2370, thank you for the kind words. It sure does feel good to win, especially against a team that is favored to beat us.
I pull for the Bulldogs, too. The people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and knowing remind me of people here.
Like Thomasville, Lincolnton is a blue-collar town and both schools were former members of the WNCHSAA. There were a lot of tough teams that belonged to the WNCHSAA. We (Lincolnton) never won the title in it which was really hard to do. Cheerduck’s team Hickory won it and Thomasville won it in 1964. Thomasville poster OC Davis’ brother played on that championship team.
Towns associated with the old WNCHSAA seem to have a little bit of a nexus or common bond, even now.

After the 1st game of the season I didn't know if Lincolnton would win a game so I'm glad to see them get this win! I miss the super competitive games we used to have with Lincolnton! I believe this coach they have is the right man for the job!

Thanks Ouduckfan, I was worried about it, too. I hope we can show some consistency... Lincolnton has played Belmont and South Point forever it seems like. We've won the state title, two times, and South Point beat us both of those years. The Wolves have had some down years recently and I'm glad the Raiders still play us. Sorry about last Friday, and Saturday, too. All the best to SP this week against Kings Mountain, could be a tough one. Also, I didn't realize what a hard schedule the Ducks have until I just looked at it. All the best to them.
