Blown away! ….great win for the Wolves!A huge win for the Wolves tonight.
Cheerduck, bless you my friend, you made us a thread; it means a lot, a big thank you. Tonight's game brought back memories from a few years ago. We had some success passing and running and the defense did really well.
GrizzlyDevil, who had a family connection on both teams (That's correct, both teams), was in Lincolnton for the game. It was truly a special night for us. Somebody said one of the old, old, old Wolves had run off and was in the stadium and when they located him he wouldn't leave. Guess he was having a special night, too.
On the downside, GD, said seven Bandys starters were injured, six with lower leg injuries for which I am very sorry and wish them well.
Maiden Creek, thank you so much for keeping me and some other Wolves updated on the West Lincoln at Bunker Hill game.
Notanyonesfan, thanks for saying something.
Friends, I'll tell you, even though this was just one game, I'm pretty excited. We haven't played like this since 2016. I started not to take my blood pressure pill, (it's called simvastatin, sounds like elastic underwear) when I got home but self-control got the better of me.
Hell, I might stay up all night.
Or the crazy persons homeI would go out here on the sidewalk and tear loose but I'm afraid they'd take me to the rest home.
My eldest tries to educate those children of Springs Road during their allotted English time. God bless her. The Tornadoes totally dominated the Indians. Even though they are down, they were beaten at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. My daughter told me it was because they were young. I hated to tell her the Red Tornadoes are just as young. As Mike Singletary said once to his opponent, "looks like we're going to be here for awhile".OC, thank you my friend. All of us Lincolnton sorts were so hungry for this kind of win. It was like getting a good nights sleep. Congratulations on another Bulldog victory. Thomasville has scored more points in their last two games than we've scored all season.
Maiden Creek, thank you for the numbers and a smart assessment. I agree with you. In last night's first half Bandys stuffed us. we managed to keep them out of the end zone with the exception of one spectacular pass in which their receiver just out athleticized the Wolves defender who cut him a flip, but he still held onto the ball.
About Maiden versus Lincolnton, the commentators (not Lincolnton people) on the Lincolnton radio station (which is in a group of other stations) were talking about what our chances are of beating the Blue devils, and it wasn't flattering (for us). They used the blind squirrel finding an acorn analogy.
I know you'll be going up to Lenoir this evening. I always enjoyed going to games at West Caldwell, it's a pretty location on the side of a hill, and it smells like pine trees, there.
SPRaiders78, thank you for saying something. I'm sorry about last night. I know that was a disappointment but it might be good motivation for next week against a good Kings Mountain team. I'll be pulling for you.
Cheerduck, thank you again for the thread and the kind words. I never sat last night. Every time I looked at the clock in the fourth quarter there were eight minutes left and I'd think "that's enough time for them to come back".
I know you're happy about The Tornadoes disassembling of crosstown St. Stephens. Straighten me out, doesn't some very close family teach there? If so, you have to be careful.![]()
