UGH - could not clear. Someday, I hope to experience Rutgers win a big game. Last time they did that was 1989 against Penn St.

Yikes defenders just standing around. Great season girls, but dammit when are we ever going to win one of these big games.

RU down 2-0 now.

The score reflects that PSU is outplaying RU by a wide margin, to their credit.

On that last goal, RU had several chances to beat PSU to the ball, or clear the ball better, but failed to do so.

PSU has won nearly every 50-50 situation, and beaten RU to the ball so many more times such that it never became a 50-50.

looks like they have been slow to the ball all game... getting out hustled and shying from contact... just out played.

We haven't won an NCAA championship in over 60 years, Penn state hasn't NOT won at least one NCAA championship since 2006... They are just too good at all non-major sports

RU looked honestly like a JV team playing against the Varsity team. Kind of embarrassing for a final 4 team, sorry but has to be said.

It's over. I can't see us coming back from 2 down.

This is still the 1st WSoccer team to ever make it this far.

Thank you for giving us something to cheer for.

I seem to recall a big win at Rutgers Stadium in 2006. Some sort of pandemonium in Piscataway.

Is the team still going to ring the Old Queens bell for making the Final Four? (Basketball teams did)

WBB CRUSHED LSU in the 2007 Final Four on their way to the championship game against Tennessee.

Hardly same old Rutgers. We upset the No. 1 ranked team on their home field to get here. Penn State is just better than us this year and our winning would have been an upset. But looking to the future, we have established ourselves as a power in women's soccer and have very strong classes coming in. We should hope for the same level of success for all our sports -probably end the season ranked #4.

And at the end of it all it didn't really matter, a terrible bowl bid that screwed us over and not many people outside of RU fans remember the game at all

Difference to me is in the midfield, where PSU is simply controlling the play decisively. We can't maintain possession and build anything up - had one chance a few minutes ago and one of the midfielders launched the ball over the PSU net rather than continuing to move the ball around.

Very true - RU was crushed in the midfield.

Not fair. RU won a HUGE game, on the road, to get to this game.

PSU is just playing better. Sometimes the other team does that.

Yup great win in quarter finals. Sorry but not the same as B1G final or national semi-final. I congratulated them on great season, which it is. But this is bigger stage. Sorry but would love to see us on top step of podium before I die.

In 1989, didn't Rutgers lose their next game - in the first round of the NCAA tourney?

Well the future is bright... We have one of the best goalies in the nation... Off to Chappel Hill to get drunk before taking an uber home to Durham... Hopefully tomorrow morning I wake up with an undergrad or a coaching hire. Either way I'll be happy

Wow, when even Reed looks bad you know it is not your day. Even Casey looked slow to dive on the 2nd goal.

Basically PSU was just the better team, more talent, more speed, better skills. RU deserves great credit for making it to the Finasl Four, but clearly was outplayed.

She was obstructed

Clearance was no bueno

Psu simply outplayed us...especially on our left side. That titled the field and led to all of PSU's opportunities

Great season ladies. It feels like we got everything we could out of their talent.

So basically unless they won the the national championship, you were going to respind like a moron. Yeh same old Rutgers, I hate how we always lose final four matches all the time!

We are 2-2 against PSU in the Big Ten.

2 wins when it didn't matter, 2 losses when it did matter (B10 conference championship and not in the NCAA tournament).

Congrats to our lady Knights for a great season and the deepest NCAA run in program history. Now that I have calmed down, I can be more rational. We have a lot to be proud of.

And what did that win us? Was that our Orange Bowl year? Our first National Championship? I forget...there have been so many...
