i think they (foley) burned that bridge with the muschamp hire. mullen was completely overlooked and in some ways disrespected. a close gator friend thinks that boat has sailed as well. foley is the one to blame primarily.

On top of all the other reasons I don't think he'll leave MSU, add in having Prescott one more year. Even if Prescott doesn't win the Heisman nd simply just gets invited to New York, no way someone leaves him behind for his senior year to take over a total rebuild.

Without Prescott, I'd give UF a small chance.

That would be pretty funny though. Dan leaves for UF, Hud coaches a guy to a Heisman trophy at MSU.

It's amazing what a dumpster fire UF is at QB . This is DM's " other baby" now. He's all in . He loses at Michigan or UF ( 2-3 games a yr) he'll be furrrrd. He does that here he's Kim Jong Mullen.

Personally, I would want a person with a history of QB development. At MSU, you can recruit defense, running backs, and enough o-linemen. What you can't recruit is QBs, and, as we see with Dak, that makes all the difference. I would want MSU to hire someone with a track record of developing QBs. This should certainly be one thing that we've learned from the Mullen era.

That being said, I don't think Mullen will or should leave. Ole Miss fans and MSU fans can go back and forth hoping that each other's coach will leave, but that is a very "non big picture view"

The truth is that MSU and Ole Miss should both hope that each other's coach stays and builds something in Mississippi, and makes the point that this is a new era of college football. It is no longer an era that basis current success on how big your stadium is, how many games you won in 1972, or how much money your alumni base possesses. They could make a point that this is a new era where running your business correctly, and making smart hiring choices wins the day.

The other truth is that MSU and Ole Miss push each other, and are both better because of each other. You want to know why nor MSU or Ole Miss has had a let down this year? The answer is because the other team keeps winning and puts the pressure on the opposing school.

Hopefully, Mullen and Freeze will stand for something bigger that leaving outstanding situations and athletic departments at their current schools, and no be sellouts. MSU and Ole Miss can both be successful in the modern football era, and they can both push each other to unforeseen heights.

After these last three weeks, I finally understand how Auburn and Alabama are always so good. It's because they push each other, and always put the pressure on the other to perform. Under these circumstances, motivation and drive is no longer a problem.

MSU and Ole Miss have both show what is possible over the past three weeks, and I see no reason why they can't continue. Hopefully their coaches have enough pride, and competitiveness to stay here and continue to build. I think they will

The Gayturds? There's really just no way I can look the other way on that. Everything you typed after that was invalidated.

My "plugged in" 89 year old neighbor talked to his people a few days ago and said that Mullen isn't going anywhere. He loves that his family can walk the streets without harassment and that he has pretty much zero pressure. We can pretty much match any school's offer with the SEC Network $ and Mullen has spent 5 years building our program. Why would he leave for the FL dumpster fire and have to build it from scratch when they overlooked him when Muschamp was hired? Also no head coach has been swiped since Slive has been the commish.

If he does leave, slide Collins over...

Hypothetically I'd want Collins to get it also. I'm just saying, in the alternate universe where Dan leaves and we hire Hud to be coach and Prescott wins the Heisman........ Hahahahaha.

I have all the faith in the world that Collins would assemble a great staff. He's a recruiting juggernaut. I hope he gets a HC job (eventually) so far away from MSU that we never have to play him.
