Geez where all that money coming from or going? That's a TON OF CASH..........
Weve had THREE 500 year floods that devastated that stadium in 20 years. FEMA nor insurance companies will not keep pouring money into a facility that is likely to flood again. SO, yes, that government BS may be inconvenient but necessary to prevent another disaster down the road.So government BS….
That's the problem with mountain land, the flat parts are always down by a stream. Boone has had similar problems, just not as catastrophic. The Little League and Sr. League fields are constantly flooded by the creek that runs by the mall. Its not that big but there is a lot of run-off from the town businesses.I'll have to agree with ^ on this one. Gotta rebuild somewhere else. But, where though? I can't think of a great place within very close proximity. The only area I can think of big enough to do so in East Haywood County and not be in a potential future flood area that would also have the infrastructure would be somewhere in Beaverdam, the complex, maybe. In less I'm missing somewhere else. My worthless opinion, is I say somehow figure out how to turn the practice field area into a future mecca for CMS & PHS both and be done with it. If it floods up there, we're already goners...
I would imagine with the combination of last year's flood ravaging the town and with all the Covid crap being gone now and knowing how Zeb Smathers (Mayor) works that Labor Day Weekend in Canton will be the biggest ever this year! I haven't heard anything yet though. Will let you know when I do. I would imagine Balsam Range will definitely be doing something for their home though, great guys, who always give back when they can. But, before it got canned last year Diamond Rio was supposed to be the Labor Day headliner along with several other decent names who said they would would come back post- Covid. Canton has had some huge names perform at Labor Day Fest. in the past. I'm sure this year won't disappoint.Sorry to hear the field won’t be ready for football season. If home field advantage is a real thing, I guess you guys would have made it to the next round last year. Other than the last possession Pisgah had last year, that was a great game. I still don’t understand what your coach was thinking.
Do any of you know if Balsum Range is planning another charity concert this year. Last years show was great.

They have decided to fix the field and stadium.I hate this for Pisgah. So much history in that old stadium. When i think of football in that part of the state I think about that stadium and that mill town and when that whistle blows on Fridays folks go in droves to support the Bears.
Any idea what the plans are? They have decided to fix the field and stadium.
Up first will be the stadium and the softball field. They need three bids for each. When the bids opened the first time, there was only one bid for the stadium, so they are accepting more bids starting in a week or so. If they don’t get more bids, then I think they will go with the lone bidder. With some luck, we may be able to play games in the stadium late this season.Any idea what the plans are?
It will always be called Memorial Stadium. Are the rumors true that if Chappell leaves they re-name the stadium after him? Or is that just the plan if they have to build a new one?
Tuscola should rename their stadium after him since he never loses there. Are the rumors true that if Chappell leaves they re-name the stadium after him? Or is that just the plan if they have to build a new one?
No it never got that high this time.Any flooding affecting the stadium this week?
Don't know .Haven't even started on fixing it yet.Any word on progress and if they may be able to host games later in the season?
FEMA has approved the rebuild. Last I heard, the contractor has been selected. They should start the work by end of June or earlier, but not sure about any home games yet. If so, it will be late in the season.Don't know .Haven't even started on fixing it yet.
You think this will happen?Play Tuscola twice and use the split the pot money.
No and noYou think this will happen?
Not sure what you are asking FBUncle? How will this be corrected?
