I'm a gambler but rarely sports and had friends and family who were involved but it's sad how the states are making $ by advertising and encouraging young people to become bettors. Sports betting is worse than all at creating addicts.
There's a ton of people who set limits and just have fun with it. I just worry about the younger kids who haven't developed that discipline yet. I don't gamble, not because I'm on a moral high horse or anything. It's mainly two things: I know just enough about sports to think I know too much and I know that my enjoyment of sports would soon transition into complete stress. I get enough of that watching our team at the RAC.

Setting limits?? If you're an alcoholic or anyone that's susceptible to addiction that doesn't work.

I meant for people who do not have addiction issues or are susceptible to addiction.

If you are fortunate enough to gamble and not be addicted then great for you. But to minimize the reality that it exists and is destructive is truly ignorant.
I was compulsive gambler for the first half of my life. Doing in game betting with my friends before that was even a thing.
I also am in touch with youth of all age ranges. Plenty of different addiction options out there today and sports gambling is most def one of them and it’s really consuming and/or destructive in someone’s life.
I know some adults who gamble and in game wager and it’s not destructive in their life. They spend (waste?) a crazy amount of their life doing it so I could easily argue they are addicted and it’s destructive in their life just not in the form of losing money.

Sure thing boomer.

You are young and in touch with young people, got it 🤣
Hey genius , try reading what experts say about the huge increases in gambling addiction among young adults the last 3 years and the devastating consequences . Especially the part about how dopes like you think its no big deal. Maybe you'll learn something.

Best solution is ideal for these kids to not be on any social media but that is just a rarity these days. I know Cam does not have a twitter handle (cannot confirm IG or anything) but it really has become a vial dumpster. I can only imagine for athletes where betting is taking place (heck even if there is no gambling) how harsh they get it. Cannot be an easy time to be them when things do not go right.

And BTW I am only in my mid 30s and recognize how much it has changed in the last several years.

bahamas tourney would be awesome!

Also that's hilarious that gamblers were tweeting at simpson haha. I'm sure it happens to a ton of college players when they ruin a 19 year olds $5 to win $1,000 parlay.

The mental health thing is overblown imo. It's as simple as don't be mentally weak. If you can't deal with the social media chirps just set your **** private haha

Games in the Bahamas are NIL opportunities for players on Student Visas.

I thought the Gavitt games were over?
Why can players get paid when in bahamas but not get paid when in the US?

As someone who makes close to 500 cold calls on some days, I have thicker skin than most some could say haha. So the mental health stuff doesn't land with me as I've dealt with a lot more than these players have.

- Cursed off daily on cold calls probably 10+ times a day but I just laugh it off. And remember this is what I do for a living for 12+ years at this point every day.
- Father found dead in bottom of pool
- Uncle murdered
- Cousin suicide
- Mother breast cancer
- Grandfather was in federal prison

Anyway, I'm not saying it looking for sympathy but just to acknowledge that a simple tweet of, "you suck" shouldn't be taken serious haha. These kids should put their phones down and go get laid

People still make cold calls?
I’d say I hate you but I fell bad with all the other stuff

The mental health thing, as you call it, is not an opinion.

"don't be mentally weak" whats that about? like some have that option--sorry for the guy's situation in life but not being a doc and knowing little of anyone's mental state/situation that sounds unduly harsh and unsympathic to the plight of others

Sure, so legal sports gambling just adds another vice or avenue for addiction for kids to have to deal with. Idiotic.

500 cold calls a day? In a 10 hour day, that is a call every 72 seconds. You're a friggin telemarketer. No wonder you suck.
Power dialer my man. 3 calls at once, 4 rings per dial. Smile and dial. You get to my level by doing the things people dont wanna do. If you do the easy things all people wanna do youll be average your whole life. Lifes too short to be average
