I think Lowe's quickness definitely helps us. He and MD were the keys to our win last night. Lowe reminds me quite a bit of Sahvir Wheeler with his quickness and being left-handed. Statistically, although Lowe is younger and has more games to play, they are similar. I think Sahvir was a better defender and looked to pass more than what I've seen of Lowe, so far. Lowe is recovering from injury, settling in and learning how he fits into what Pope wants on offense, so I think his play will improve. Lowe is not as good on defense as I was hoping he would be, despite his quick feet. He is too frail.
Bottom line ... I'm
GLAD we have Lowe and I think he will get better. He needs to hit his lay-ups and free-throws at a higher clip. I think he will.
It will be interesting to see if SEC defenses will sag off him, like they usually did for Wheeler, giving him the outside shot and cutting down the driving lanes. Lowe and Aberdeen need to learn how to mesh together on the court at the same time.
This is a must, imho.
