Conference season is almost upon us but we have 1 more week of interesting nonconference matchups and some byes.

Asheville- BYE
Enka- BYE
Roberson- BYE

Erwin @ Brevard- Erwin had a disappointing loss last week and seems to have trouble stopping other teams despite their offense being pretty good. Brevard has a decent defense but has trouble scoring against better teams- something has to give this week.

Erwin 28
Brevard 27

Avery @ McDowell- The Titans defense played well against an outmanned East Rutherford team. only allowing 60 or so yards. Avery can score but also has tons of trouble stopping the other team. This game might be close for a while but McDowell should wear them down and pull away late.

McDowell 41
Avery 21

North Buncombe @ East Henderson- Can the Blackhawks get a win before conference season comes around? It's looking less likely each week that North will win and this is their last realistic chance. East Henderson has too many athletes and should win.

East Henderson 21
North Buncombe 14

Rabun Gap @ Reynolds- This should be the best game in WNC this week with 2 very good teams. Rabun Gap has only 1 loss to the number 5 ranked team in the state of Tennessee while Reynolds has destroyed everything in their path. It's hard to go against Reynolds at home but this will be a fight.

Reynolds 27
Rabun Gap 24

Power Rankings

1. Reynolds
2. Asheville
3. Roberson
4. McDowell
5. Erwin
6. Enka
7. North Buncombe

I'd like to see Robbinsville pick up a home and away with Roberson, N. Buncombe or McDowell being Asheville dropped us for Swain. We've never played any of the three.

Did we drop y’all? Or y’all coach didn’t want to renew so we moved on?

Asheville decided to move on.
Why would we wont to drop Asheville?
We always schedule a team like Asheville. Now we will have to find another which will be had to do. We have played Rabun Gap, Rabun County, Christ School, Carolina Country Day. Erwin, Asheville, and Hapeville Charter GA in the last ten years. We schedule teams like that to be ready for playoff time. I see zero reason we would've dropped that game. I mean we went 1-1 and out scored Asheville in the series. I don't think we would've dropped it even if we went 0-2.
I don't think the coaches are after a "W" in those games anyway.

Avery - 20

East Henderson - 6
North Buncombe - 3

Rabun Gap - 24
AC Reynolds - 21
(I believe this is the best team we play until the playoffs, based on what I’ve seen, hope I’m wrong!)

Just asking. I would have liked to see this continue for years to come

Looks like tomorrow just got tougher for ACR, we will be without D1 safety, as well as, “Swiss Army knife” WR/RB/nickel corner/kick returner. However no excuses the show must go on. At least our RB and QB are healthy! 🤷‍♂️

Best team we’ve played by far. Too many special teams mistakes, KO return for TD, blocked punt returned to 10, fumbled punt gave them ball at 20. Didn’t quit, came back to cut it to 6 with 5:30 to go in game just couldn’t get over the hump. Great learning experience now onto conference play next week!

East Henderson did beat North Buncombe 28-25.. Poor North will likely go winless again in 2022.

Why would we wont to drop Asheville? I see zero reason we would've dropped that game. I see a very BIG reason to not want to play Asheville. MONEY. They wont bring a dozen fans to Robbinsville, no matter their record, (or Robbinsvilles) Gate is a BIG motivator, especially for small schools that depend on gate revenue to help balance the books. It really isnt rocket science.

That's doesn't make any since.
We knew Asheville wouldn't bring many when we signed the deal. We knew Enka and Erwin wouldn't bring many either. Same for Rabun Gap and Charlotte County Day. We will pick up another school that will not bring many fans.
So your scientific Answer is wrong.
It's not Rocket Science.

These games are not for gate or for a W.
Try again.

These games are not for gate or for a W Try again. That is easy to say if you are not responsible for the financial health of a school sports program. To think otherwise is to live in fantasyland.
