These 2 border rivals get together tonight after a year off , weather and the dawgs shyness of a 50 pt drubbing hindered last years get together.
What a difference a year makes, game looks very even across the board. Thoughts, opinions ,
during game comments. Go Scots.

41-25 Dawgs. Good game Marlboro. Turnovers and special teams was the killer, but I have faith in the Young Guns. They will get better.

regardless of the 41-25 final , imo the game was lost at 19-17 in the 3rd quarter . Scotland takes 2nd half kickoff and goes on long 6 minute drive for a td to go up 19-17, then holds marlboro 3 and out , all the momentum with the scots going to receive ball near midfield after punt with a lead , then one of those special team blunderS by an experienced player , marlboro quickly scores with a couple big plays .. .
yes scotland had a miracle kickoff return BUT..
It’s going to be one of those years .
Scots off next and i’m off to overlooking the ocean all week .

Scots played some good ball, good young wr Trey Chavis looks good for us. Just mistakes all night long. Penalties, mental errors, they were all there. But that's fb. Marlboro read some of our plays though and did capitalize on them. Impressed by them to say the least. Bye week then West Meck. GO SCOTS.

Defense played well, just got put in situations like last week against Hillside and Marlboro capitalized.Like I said turnovers and Special teams was the Scots downfall last night.

From what I hear, the JV team is another wave of great players. Why not move them up this season? Seems like the thing to do.

Because our Varsity squad is our JV squad.... graduated 32 seniors, less than 10 Sr's on the team and half of them are injured. yeah we're getting whooped on.... but they're playing our soph. and Jr's (and some freshmen from what I hear)... saw this coming since the spring, don't know why everyone is so shocked that we're 1-2 with the schedule we have.

Richmond Sr graduates 25-30 every season so I don't understand the point in saying "we had 32 seniors last year" in every post. It's gonna make it less fun beating y'all this year.

Call it what you want...facts are facts.... @ d game...(still waiting on 71st to play somebody...71st is good but your non conf. scheduled is weak)...@ RC98...you graduate 25 to 30 and you have 25 to 30 Sr's stepping in...we had 10...and half of those are already injured...but go ahead enjoy your year at the top...you'll both soon be coming down....lol

From what I've seen, Richmond only will graduate 7 seniors that are key contributors to this year's team. I don't think Scotland automatically bounces back next season to dominate the SEC like it has over the course of the past 7 years. Still can't believe that Scotland only has 1 title in those years. Not being condescending, gentlemen. Immense, deep, and overpowering talent down there during that span.

Richmond graduates 25-30 seniors each year? I find that hard to believe but I don't know the numbers so I won't speak on that. What I say is this. Those 25-30 seniors can go to any other school in the state and start like they could have in the Raider heyday.

We have 24 seniors on the roster this year. Only about 6-7 playing and making a impact on the game. Sophomores scored all but 1 td tonight. And we have injuries just like everyone else. 9 players didn't dress out tonight including our top wr, our #2 rb, one of our better lb who hasn't played this year but may be ready soon.

Not this current class. And it’s just the facts. Richmond is a very young team, and we are so far removed from being a perennial contender that it works FOR this team. They seem to be rewriting the narrative of Raider football. It’s no longer ground-and-pound. But Richmond does graduate 25-35 a season. 26 (if I remember reading that figure correctly) is actually a medium-low number.

Easy for me to explain so here it is not excuses just the facts: 2012 lost to NB, 2013 lost to the best team in the finals in the entire state, 2014 lost to a good but not great Hoggard team and I believe we lost the 2nd best player in the east that year to a brain injury, 2015 No reason or excuse for that pathetic lost and ditto in 2016 (here is where i do agree with you), 2017 well everyone knows that story. SC had a great run but i would not throw dirt on us just yet. The graduating seniors thing i don't buy. Either you can play or not so it tells me that this junior class didn't have a lot of players or they decided not to continue playing football. Here is what I do know as long as SC cares about football they will still have to be reckoned with. I will leave you on this note Bob Paroli Coached for 100 years (40) i believe and he has (1) title and he had some great teams with great players (brad edwards- NFL donnell wolford- NFL, rickey shaw-NFL, steve salley NC State and the list goes on) and none of those kids won a state championship under Paroli. He won at 71st with far less talent later on. I say all of this because sh## happens. Take for what its worth! They are kids and you never know on any given Friday what will happen.

Couple of points....this is the first year SC played tough non conference schedule. Prior to the new additions the conference was weak. The only teams in the conference were scots, richmond and pinecrest. As for the great teams paroli coached....the team with donnel woolford, earl harvey and brian Mcphatter along with the scots featuring earl mclaurin, corvin davis and john mcdonald lost to those dirty birds who went on to win the state championship
