Both will turn into good HCs. IMHOaccording to Footballscoop.com bot have coordinators as their front runners.
Maryland Durkin from Michigan
Illinois Foster from VaTech
Don't disagree. Posted it more because a lot of people on here think we should be above a P5 coordinator and to show that Maryland fans are talking like they are going to drop 4-5 million of their coach but lest see what happens. Both will turn into good HCs. IMHO
Oh wow the rumor yesterday was Foster was going to stay on with Fuente.
Kinda surprised by Durkin rumor since Maryland from all other rumors out there was suppose to be looking for a creative offensive coach be it spread or pro style. Durkin worked with Mushcamp whose offense and Florida stunk and with Harbaugh who's offense is a pro style but certainly not a juggernaut, kinda seems simple but plays usually designed well.
I don't know if any of it will come true but always find the speculation and rumors fun.
Can we hire a coordinator too like Aranda, pretty please.....:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Need to start that rumor.... Flood out Aranda in.
Alse see another report from Bruce Feldman that Kirby Smart is the front runner at USCe, not Herman. That was always my pick for USCe, Herman might be courted but I thought his personality and demeanor would be better at other locations like USC (west coast), VT, Maryland or he may just stay at Houston and wait on Texas.
BTW there was also an article yesterday that Snyder isn't retiring and is planning on returning to KSU next year so that's another potential that won't be open.
That wouldn't be the first time. Fans of schools with bigger names than Maryland and as much money in the past have had dreams of the biggest in the profession coming to their school and in the end more times than not they get a good solid name but not the best or top in the profession who they think they can lure away from whatever their current spot might be.Don't disagree. Well that's not true at all. You think they all live together?Everyone is calling everyone else's agents who start rumors in order to get their guy on the other guy's list.
No HC of a top 10 team is allowing any coach to talk to anyone right now.
99% of this stuff is 50% bs.
Meanwhile we still wait
Aranda would turn this defense around in one year and he's young. Everyone says you can't blame Rossi look at what he's got to work with. Aranda would have this unit above average in one year. Look at what he's done at Wisconsin their defensive scheme's are innovative and quite brilliant. He makes that defense more than the sum of all parts. My only question with him is can he find an offense to go with his defense.I personally like Matt Campbell (Toledo) but he might be in demand (Missouri). Aranda would be good as well.Oh wow the rumor yesterday was Foster was going to stay on with Fuente.

Well that's always a question. Get a defensive coach, can you find the good OC to pair him with? Get an offensive coach can you find the good DC to pair him with? I'm a big proponent of switching to a spread and have been for some time. But you know it's probably easier to find a solid/good OC that can install the spread considering its ubiquity throughout college vs. finding a solid DC to pair with that spread HC. I don't know if he'd turn the defense around that quick but I think he would in time.Aranda would turn this defense around in one year and he's young. Both those jobs have been open for a while, Illinois before the season even started. Not a reasonable comparison.

Wait I thought you guys didn't want retreads or guys with question marks? Does Prescott have unlimited eligibility? Don't get me wrong, I like him but a few weeks ago you were here with much bigger names.Nah we will have Mullen...enjoy that for next decade.
So your telling me your going to eat a salary he just signed in February for 4.2 mil a year and the contract runs through 2018. Plus pay him what another 4.2 mil a year. I thought you guys were hurting for cash that's why the B1G advanced you 50 mil. and us zilch.Nah we will have Mullen...enjoy that for next decade.
Mullen has been rumored to all 3 names in that area from VT to Maryland to UVA who hasn't fired London yet. Now with VT likely targeting Fuente, Maryland is certainly possible. Prescott is leaving so I can see Mullen looking to leave before Miss. St has to go through another rebuild.Nah we will have Mullen by next week, come back to this post.
Also Rutgers has been better last 8 years, but not over all.

We have a better history, bowls, winning %, all americans, and facilities.
Just watch what Under Armour has done for us come December 2nd.
They have Plank's money so I don't know how hurting they are anymore and they are renovating facilities as well. I can't speak to what Mullen's buyout may be if any.So your telling me your going to eat a salary he just signed in February for 4.2 mil a year and the contract runs through 2018. Oh yea forgot about UA university where they not only buy coaches but give players family members jobs and produce some of the ugliest uniforms on the planet. Must be nice to have a booster like that and the B1G also lending a helping hand. We will be stuck in obscurity forever. They have Plank's money so I don't know how hurting they are anymore and they are renovating facilities as well. What would fandom be without grandiose dreams? That wouldn't be the first time. ND when it hired Kelly, Texas when it hired Strong, etc didn't live up to what those fans were dreaming...OSU with Meyer and Michigan with Harbaugh are the last 2 that come to mind that actually came to fruition. It doesn't mean the guy you hire is bad, Kelly has turned out well at ND, McElwain at Florida has had a nice start, etc.. it's just the grandiose dreams are usually unrealistic.

football scoop is really bad. they just throw crap against the wall. last year with michigan they said harbaugh had a meeting with michigan an told them he is not interested. they said butch jones, david cutcliffe, les miles, and the utah coach all turned michigan down. they said michigan was in a panic because nobody wanted the job. they said steve addazio was front runner for the job.Scoop is saying Cubit might get a 2 year deal. Maybe it could be worse.....
True enough but let your feet get too far off the ground and you set yourself up for greater disappointment. I'd prefer to be surprised than disappointed but what you say is true. What would fandom be without grandiose dreams?
That's true but still fun to read the rumors for me. I tend to put a little more credibility in the ones provided by reporters but still like them all and take it all with a grain of salt nonetheless.football scoop is really bad. they just throw crap against the wall. last year with michigan they said harbaugh had a meeting with michigan an told them he is not interested. they said butch jones, david cutcliffe, les miles, and the utah coach all turned michigan down. they said michigan was in a panic because nobody wanted the job. they said steve addazio was front runner for the job.
A lot of Rutgers players such as Barnwell may find their only job at Home Depot- isn't that like almost the same thing?Oh yea forgot about UA university where they not only buy coaches but give players family members jobs and produce some of the ugliest uniforms on the planet.
