Also worth pointing out is that PSU wins on a massive offensive rebound when they are one of the absolute worst offensive rebounding teams in the country

I think they were actually dead last heading into the Rutgers game
They are dreadful OREB. They normally don’t try. That guy impressed me tonught

Why did he play only 2 minutes against us. He appeared to be the shot blocker they didn’t have against us.

Yes. He referred to him as being a dirty player strongly & intentionally implied with regularity. This was a one off and I’m not 100% convinced it was intentional. Ami Finau is a dirty player. Then the piece of trash wouldn’t support his claim, instead evading it like the coward he is.
I mean, when you're not scoring and your trying to go for guys legs, you look pretty ******. It wasn't a good look for mulcahy

Assuming we take care of business tomorrow, the RAC will be hopping Sunday... Senior Night, double-bye on the line, last game of the day etc.
All true except that double-bye may not be on the line even if we win. We will know going into the game. PSU win tonight put a big dent in that. We may need Nebraska to beat Iowa so that Iowa finishes 11-9 and is not in the 12-8 pod. There are many scenarios now where we don’t finish in the top four even with a 12-8 record due to NW losing tonight and therefore not in our 12-8 pod assuming we beat them as they would finish with a 11 - 9 record.

There are far more scenarios where we'd get the double bye vs not. But you're right, potentially we'd miss out even if we win out.

He is a freshman that in minutes earlier had been inconsistent as Shrewsbury has been relying on all his older guys. I saw MC Henry earlier in the season l looking real athletic , playing good defense , shot blocking and finishing around the rim ( which he struggled with tonite ) That was a tremendous contested rebound and he had the sense to get it out to start the passing for the winning 3. I think he will be good for them next year.

"one of" and "were"...you're being far too kind...after 17 of them over the past two games, we're still dead last in the country (though the gap is closing on Sam Sessoms and 362nd ranked Coppin State).

It's also been an adjustment for him as he was a high school point guard, but is more of a 3 or 4 in this offense...part of why he was able to play so much tonight was that Northwestern went small (Nicholson played 10 minutes), so Njie and Henn weren't needed for their post defense (only 22 minutes combined) and could just spread the floor. Against Rutgers, had to match up with Cliff and they played 34 combined minutes.

We witnessed Coppin State at the RAC this year. How in the world could you possibly be worse than them?!

Most scenarios we need NW to be in our pod of 12 - 8 which no longer exists. Many scenarios now we finish 5th with a 12 - 8 record. That’s why I was rooting hard for NW to beat PSU.

I'm guessing that they actually attempt to get offensive rebounds (kinda like 361 other teams in the country)...for whatever reason, Micah has everyone turning their backs and heading back on defense when a shot goes up.

As I've said, if we had some lockdown defense and want to avoid transition at all costs, I might understand it. But I have no explanation when the defense is relatively relatively average. We don't even contest most free throws at the offensive end...just put the other 4 guys in the backcourt.

But if RU wins out and Michigan loses to Illinois and beats Indiana , Iowa beats Nebraska , Illinois loses at Purdue and Penn State beats Maryland at home then Iowa , Michigan and Rutgers finish 12/8 and NW , Maryland , Indiana and Illinois finish 11/9. So Iowa is the 2 , Michigan the 3 and Rutgers the 4 seed and double bye. The scenario I laid out is no so far fetched.

Idk, playing around with it just now I still get Rutgers in the top 4 in most scenarios with us winning out. We'll see

In this league???

Michigan has at Illinois and at Indiana.
Maryland with its terrible away record is at Penn State.
Illinois hosts Michigan then is at Purdue.
Northwestern is at Rutgers

Would there be any surprise at any outcome?

OSU beating #21 Maryland last night surprised me genuinely. Should it have?

After that, nothing would surprise me anymore. Purdue losing out. Us losing to minny by 20. Or winning by 20. OSU or Nebraska winning the Big Ten tournament. Nothing

Parity, injuries, slumps, crazy results in the B1G this season - attrition. Who can survive and advance to the NCAAs. BTT for seedlings for the middle of the pack, it’s unbelievable how razor thin the margin between 2-9 for the double bye is. Man it would be helpful for our guys to get some rest if we can get 2 last regular season wins towards the double bye!

I wasn’t surprised after I saw the way Willard cursed out one of his guys as he came toward him from the court. I knew he had to be worried.

PS: I know that’s one way of motivating players, but I’m glad Pike doesn’t do it. You screw up (especially on D) and you pay with PT.
