but does it annoy anyone else that we just got the largest single donation for a university in Mississippi history, and while practice facilities will be renovated and coaches will get new offices, our fans will still be pissing on their own feet in the Templeton troughs? I understand that the practice facility has been marked as higher priority than stadium expansion but jesus. Can $10K be thrown at the West side of the stadium to at least put up a few guards?

Longer term, I'd love to see these improvements to the West side also.

1. Complete overhaul of the bathrooms. I've pissed in trash cans and alleys before so I'm really not a snob, but the current situation is downright nasty.
2. Overhaul of vending layout. The added vendor locations for last year seemed to help a good bit, but there are still a lot of locations where the line can't get 5 deep without completely blocking traffic. This is especially the case up in the chairback level.
3. Install individual seats in at least the priority sections(C, D, and E).
4. At the expense of losing a good number of seats, take out a row of seats by each portal to allow people to walk in between sections. Then split each section in half and add a column of steps down the middle. Something has to be done about so many people having to crawl over 30 or more people in your row in order to get in and out of your seat. I think that we currently have rows that are 70+ people long and that has to be some sort of record. We may not be the only one like this, but I can't think of any other stadium where I've seen this problem.
5. With the improvements made to the flow of traffic, you could then have more walking vendors which would further cut down on people having to get up. Right now, I have to scream over 33 people to catch someone's attention and then pass money down the entire aisle. You know how people just love that when they're trying to watch a game.

I could come up with probably 20 more things, but doing at least the top 4 would thrill me.

to build a 1 ft wall in front of the Templeton Troughs to block the piss from hitting my leg. **** - use some cinder blocks - I don't care. Do something.

why spend 25 million on something that we already have for the most part and something that only a handful of people will ever see.

On the other side we need stadium expansion/renovations in a bad way and that's what the world gets to see essentially every other Saturday thru the fall.

I do understand wanting to keep Dan happy and the facility will help with recruiting which benefits the fans (wins) but the endzone is just a huge priority in my mind. Now I don't see that happening for a while.

Wear long pants and leather shoes, and don't touch your legs from the knee down. Problem solved. I was a lot more disgusted at the **** that was on the bottom of my pants from a night at Rick's, and it never stopped me from going.

Of course, the closest bathroom to my seats have urinals.

I get your point, but are your really arguing that rather than spending a couple thousand bucks to fix this, fans should have to wear long pants and covered shoes in 100 degree weather in order to keep from pissing on themselves because we aren't recruits? I get that the coaches and players are priority one, but it's ridiculous that this crap has been allowed to go on for this long. Also, to your point, a lot of recruits do sit in the stands and have to use these exact bathrooms throughout the season.

I'm fine with fans not always being at the top of the list, but it is the Bulldog Club members that are paying a lot of the bills.

Do we know if the gift was earmarked for specific use on the new facility? I know a guy made a large donation to my church specifically for a gym to be built, but all the blue hairs got upset because there was better ways to use the money. They got shot down because it was donated specifically for the purpose of a gym. If this was just a donation to the general fund, then I agree with much of the sentiment that we can direct a small portion of it to improve the situation. The Templeton Troughs have been a huge embarrassment for a long time. But if the Seals gave that money specifically for the new complex, then we can't really say anything about it.

that the Seals, along with the rest of our big donors, haven't pissed with the masses all that much. So it's probably not a priority.

They have watched most of the games from the stands and not a box.

Its safe to say they aren't stuffy cigar boys.

That being said, I don't necessarily agree with sinking money into the troughs.

First of all, as someone pointed out, it will open the university up to lawsuits. Adding a 8 inch cinder block wall in a crowded restroom could increase the chance of a fall related injury.

Secondly, the costmay be as low as you think. Not sure of the practices of the university, but a modification like this may need construction documents.

Finally, if you add an 8 inch wall, someone is going to piss on the top of it, and it's still going to splash on you.

Pissing standing up is an imperfect action. Even in standard urinals, sometimes you get splash back.

I'm sure this will be addressed in the future. I just don't see the need to address it immediately with a looming renovation.</p>

Especially if someone else is going to donate the money.

FWIW if you just aim to the side then the splash back will hit someone else and not you.

I feel the same way Seinfeld. It is like we live in a 1500 square foot house and we are installing a swimming pool in the yard. Because the guy with the 3000 square foot house put in a pool last year.

With all that said though....we need to do what we have to do to keep Dan happy.

but I can live with it since I only have to do it 6-7 days a year.

I'm totally on board with #4, and I think #3 will be taken care of when we expand the stadium, permanent chairback in the sections between the 30's. It just looks nice and would be a nice addition.

I'm optimistic.

1) How would putting in a small barrier in the exact same location that there is currently a 3 inch drop off make someone more likely to fall?<div>
</div><div>2) When you're peeing in the troughs, it's generally your own pee splashing back on you. If someone is going out of their way to pee in my direction and then on top of that, they're hitting the top of thehypotheticalbarrier instead of in the trough, then I'm pretty sure that person is just choosing to pee on me.</div><div>
</div><div>3) Someone who doesn't use the troughs doesn't think they're a priority? Shocking.

They have troughs in the stadium? I am always in the club level so I don't have this problem.

They could do something about the ice though. I like those little Ice buds like Sonic has. They should do something about those.

so the wall should not be an issue. Hell, it should help drunk *** people from falling over.

And you have to be trying really hard to piss on top of a wall when you are standing right over it.

You need construction documents to build a form, fill it with concrete, and let it set? I'm no construction genius but it doesn't seem that hard. Or as I said, just use cinder blocks.

We are talking about piss - hilarious.

But sometimes you need them to legally perform the work. I've seen drawings originated for less scope than this. Not saying it's mandatory, but it certainly could be.

As far as a trip hazard, if someone bumps you from behind now, you can slide your feet forward to catch yourself somewhat. With a small wall, you can not. Also, you're able to position your center of gravity to an area that isn't over your feet.

I'm just saying there is a lot more to consider to this to legally protect the university.

Arguments about why walls in front of piss troughs are a bad idea. I got a good laugh out of it.

Competitive seasons produce hasty bathroom experiences. What I'm saying is..I think more force is used to pee when you are trying to get back to the game than when you're not. I haven't done research but I don't remember shin splashback during any of the sub .500 years. Evidently some of you do. And if you weren't taking your time during the Croom error or waiting til the last minute to go then you deserve what you got. I think the reason this is so fresh on so many minds is that people pee with force when an actual product is put on the field. You don't want to miss a minute of the game. I will say I find peeing at an angle helpful. Even peeing on the urinal cake produces a pattern less susceptible to return fire. I'm happy this is an issue.

Apparently drinking whiskey does not help interactions with ******** so he bumped the guy into the wall and he ended up stepping into the trough with his Bama crocs. At least the trough has some extra uses some times.

i was just thinking how hilarious it would be for our ath dept to be sitting around having this very discussion.<div>
</div><div>dan: well scott, we should think about putting a splashback wall by the pee troughs.</div><div>scott: but dan, what happens when someone trips over the through and falls? i think signs showing fans how to properly piss at an agle to avoid splashback would suffice. plus a wall is gonna screw with your center of gravity.</div><div>

I have seat 1 in section C and I think that ALL 70 on my row come out on my end. There are at least 6 people that I think have a bladder problem as the same 6 come and go at least 10 times a game. No exaggeration!!!! Of course, ever seat in the stadium has some kind of positive and negative so I really can't complain. However, it sucks when you miss some of the greatest plays in MSU history because someone is giving you the crotch or butt view as they squeeze in front of you during play.

Maybe the solution to the whole deal is to give everyone a pair of Depends and stick a feeding tube down their throat when they sit down. No need to get up then expect to cheer!!!!!!

I've had seats 28-31 for years. What a pain stepping all over people getting in and out. Reminds of that line from "Fight Club" when Brad Pitt was passing the flight attendant in the aisle - do give her the *** or the cock? I've upped my donation significatly and they haven't moved me closer to the aisle. I've even bumped it up to the 80th percentile and no movement. I am willing to bet the other folks on the row would love for me to move my fat *** and size 12 shoes closer to the end.
