1. We've got to learn to put teams away. We looked great the first 35 minutes then just plain quit playing. The last 25 was about as ugly as it gets. Still, when's the last time we were bitching about a 13-point road conference win that really wasn't that close.

2. As much hell as I gave him after the 1st 2 games, Devin Bell has looked pretty good lately. He's made 6 straight. They were all routine kicks, but he's hitting them clean and splitting the uprights down the middle. Those kicks would have been good from over 45 yards out.

3. The OL is still not where we need it to be. It looks to be better than last year, but it's still probably a year away.

4. As much as I've criticized Will Muschamp the last couple of years, he's doing a hell of a job this year. Hiring Wayne Pease as OC was a great hire. They are making good halftime adjustments and just steamrolling teams in the 2nd half. Who would have ever thought a team would beat LSU by running all over them like Florida did. 25 straight running plays in the 2nd half. They did call at least 1 pass, but Driskoll scrambled for a 1st down.

5. Auburn's offense makes a Sylvester Croom offense look good. Actually, it looks a lot like a Croom offense. Take a bunch of players that are suited for a spread offense and make them run a west coast offense. Easily the dumbest coaching in the league this year. I expected a lot less from Auburn than most people did this year (6-6), but they're a lot worse than I thought they were.

6. It's going to be a long year for Missouri. I thought they'd be competitive in the weaker East. But the East ain't so weak this year, and Mizzou isn't what I thought they'd be. Franklin has been a huge bust.

7. South Carolina is looking like they could win a national title this year. That team has it all. No weaknesses.

I remember a time when even PATs weren't considered routine when it came to our kickers.

Auburn is currently 115 in total offense, but you have to remember, when comparing to Croom, that Croom was able to do that five years in a row.

True. That's what sets Croom apart. The ability to suck so completely for so long. No way Chizik is going to get a chance to be this bad for that long.

What's wrong with the OL?...

...I realize it's standard sixpack fare to bash the OL, but I think they have played great so far. Barring the few inevitable breakdowns, Russell is seldom pressured in the pocket. (Holding the ball too long is not the OL's fault). When was the last time a MSU QB actually had time to throw? And do you think is responsible for Perkins' impressive numbers?

We rushed for the fewest yards Kentucky has given up this season. We should have been able to move the ball on them better in the 2nd half even with the conservative play calling. The OL doesn't suck, and it is improved, but it not where it needs to be yet.

South Carolina is a team that could go undefeated.....

beat Alabama in Atlanta, and then go get beat by Oregon and West Virginia in the BCS Championship Game.

I'd trade with them in a heartbeat.

Watch a little closer. I haven't watched any games on tv - all in person. But do notice plays every once in a while where we completely blow a block. Usually Malone. I'd rank Day and Jackson as our best two, Clausell and Siddoway about equal (slight edge to Clausell), then Malone. Smith plays so little that I can't really say how he does.

My biggest complaint would be they don't seem to be physically dominant. Can't really push around anyone's dline. We're not going to line up and run it down someone's throat. But they are young and fairly inexperienced so I won't complain too much - they are better than I expected considering smith has played so little.

Adam Carlson agrees with this statement.

Also, anything that isn't a PAT is not really considered a routine kick... unless you consider every kick a routine kick. Bell made a 37 yarder from the hash look easy yesterday... that's not fairly "routine." Give him credit. A lot of us gave up on him after 2 games.

Kentucky gambled and stacked the box. Tyler rose to the occasion and they lost. We have a 7 yard average on running plays. We're doing alright

We're averaging 4.8 yards per rush for the season. Not sure where you came up with 7. We just averaged 4.1 yards per carry against the worst run defense in the SEC. And Russell's passer rating was below his season and career averages. He had some great passes, but he missed some too. We just weren't very good offensively at all the last 25 minutes. We'll still win 8-9 games. But the OL isn't a strength right now. At least it's not a big liability like it was last year.

Agree. We can't blow people off the LOS. Right now, looks like that Troy LB was right.

I have to admit, I would love to see SC's Offense against Bama's Defense... it would be epic.

Alabama, however, would grind BOTH WV and Oregon into dust. Not yet sure how SC would match up vs them.
