I assume that he's being encouraged by the Republican establishment to jump into the fray. I'm not sure when it's too late administratively or politically to throw one's hat into the race (again) or try some end run at the national convention.is so bitter and jealous. I think if Trump wins 3 of 4 or sweeps this Saturday (80% chance in LA/ME and 70% in KY/KS) it would decimate the Establishment's attack plans.https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...o-is-playing-the-american-public-for-suckers/
This sounds like a tactical move from the party, not just Mitt.

I used to think the TP/libertarian types would be the ones to splinter off at some point, but this is something entirely different. The establishment's plan is to get it to brokered convention, and get the delegates to hijack the popular vote. For that, they have to keep Trump under 50% of delegate count.
Also, if they do this and succeed, people will leave the GOP in droves.

Exactly right. One problem the GOP has is a rule they added in 2012 that requires at least 8 state victories to be eligible for the nomination. I think Cruz is at 4, Rubio is at 1. Kasich may be at 1 or more after Ohio on 15 March. The establishment's plan is to get it to brokered convention, and get the delegates to hijack the popular vote. I think they've been face-palming the country since they coined themselves "Libertarians".Libertarians are looking at Trump and Clinton and Face-palming our country.
