I must post this section because,:

A donor whose name is on the list of Rutgers football scholarship endowers told NJ Advance Media that the buzz coming out of Barchi's private party was that Rutgers had secured all of the money commitments needed to fire Flood and athletics director Julie Hermann, who also is fighting for her job after being summoned to meet with Barchi this weekend.

The talk in the Audi Club, according to two high-end boosters, was that Barchi had been given the go-ahead from legal counsel to clean house, and there were no monetary issues preventing the university's administration from making sweeping changes.

ut oh...lets see how we can turn this into another PR disaster.
If the AD goes, watch the PCs and diversity groups come out. She did a good job on soccer hiring, and not against her going. Will donations go up a lot more without her? Do boosters guarantee millions? If not, hope she stays. As far as Flood, he got his chance with new staff and failed.

Screw PC. How about selecting the most qualified person for the job. Hey, now there's an idea.

If she is fired, it wouldn't be because Flood is a bad football coach. It would be because the investigation showed that she wasn't taking appropriate actions in regards to drug testing and potential NCAA violations.

BINGO!

When oh when will people get that Rutgers won't fire ADs based on win and lost records? Come on folks, where have you been the last few decades?

If she gets fired it will have NOTHING to do with Flood lack of skills as a HC. Trust me on this one.

I'm relatively neutral on Hermann -- partly because after the initial firestorm after her hiring I don't know very much about what she's done and what she hasn't done. Could someone in the know publish a list of her accomplishments and failures?

If she was involved in NCAA violations, I won't complain about her being fired, but it's pretty hard to argue that there was someone obviously more qualified who was up for the job (and subsequent events with the other finalist - whose current job is not with a P5 school - support this conclusion).

thats the thing - her track record becomes a moot point if the report finds what it's rumored to. Think about subway and Jarred. His track record was all positives from a company perspective but then things happen that overweight all of that. Extreme example but it's people can't seem to comprehend this

She's done a pretty good job raising revenue and significantly increasing donations. And I guess she's done a good job in hiring coaches, but since she hasn't hired a FB or BB coach yet, you really can't tell if she is good or bad at spotting coaching talent.

But the big part of her job is running the athletic department. Before she stepped on campus, she had a lot of staff out to get her based on some perceived loyalty to Pernetti, so this wasn't an easy job, but from what I hear, she's done a good enough job (although there are still a lot of the same staffers who continue to dislike her). But if she missed on drug testing and NCAA compliance issues, that is a pretty big miss. I guess we'll have to wait until the report comes out to see if this was a miss for her or not.

'Money is there, and Barchi has the ok from legal"

Ok nice headline but exactly what doe this mean?

Assume "Money is there" means:
(1.) that there is money to simply dismiss everyone - no tussle over those 'for cause' ideas
(2.) that there is enough money to hire a genuine B1G / P5 level HC
(3.) that there is enough money to permit said HC to hire an appropriate staff.

Assume "ok from legal" means:
- the method of dismissal is viewed as not going to potentially generate discrimination / wrongful termination / defamation / punitive damages lawsuits .

If any of this is way, way wrong .... it will be messy, messy, messy

Methinks Barchi and Delany are talking (hopefully) using this connections to vet potential replacements....of course if that's the direction he chooses to go...

Did you read the article? There is money to fund the buyouts for Hermann and Flood. The legal team had given Barchi the go ahead to fire them if they wish.
