Monroe has perhaps its best-ever combo of players with Jordan Young (Michigan) and Kaegan Chambers (undecided). Incredible speed and athleticism. And that's saying a lot for a school that had Jamison Crowder and Issac Blakeney as teammates about 15 years ago.

Chambers ran for 264 yards and two touchdowns and completed 7 of 12 passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns in the romp over Brevard.

I teach these boys at NHS. They are proud of the season they put together. Yesterday in my first period they all said it was about getting that W for Coach on his Birthday. These boys love thier coach and the staff he has put together. Don't get it twisted they are going to bring thier all to this game Saturday Night and will leave it all on the field.

First off, NHS did have an off night offensively, but give some credit to the Whiteville D. They played well in hostile territory. "HORNS AND ALL" lol. It was a competitive game down to the last 8 minutes.

The Eagles are going to come into this game ready to try to establish themselves offensivly early. If they can get a 10+ point cushion they will convert over and pound the run game. Monroe plays too much like they do, and NHS does not want a shootout, they can put points up big but if it's tight in the big lights it's easy to come down to little mistakes and if the Eagles have one mistake statistically is turnovers this post season. (Granted it has been to wet very cold games in a row) Monroe is very capable of taking advantage of that.

Monroe is a darn good football team. They have athletes all over. Both teams deserve to be in this game.

. It's gonna be tight, if we miss an XP I just hope Coach doesn't stick to 2 pt conversion attempts. 2-3 extra points good be the deciding factor.

Picking with my heart I have the Eagles winning this one 34-28.

Good luck to all. I will see the Eagle faithful at the game Saturday Night.

East is down. Biased opinion but I’d be cheering my son for the second year in a row in the 2a championship if not for the mass exodus. But in reality, I may have been watching him lose it again. It’s Monroe’s years, just as East Duplin was two years ago.

Let's not believe that Northeastern can't compete...Reidsville didn't blow the doors off NE at States. In 2018 NE was actually up 21-7 at the half and lost on a last minute FG 31-28. In '19 he score was 14-0 but highly competitive. I think it will be a good game, slight edge to Monroe but much Respect to Coach Moore and staff, he's been there!

And Coach Sowell from Monroe has won a state championship before 🤷🏾‍♂️

Why you have so much hate for this team? I've never seen you talk down on another team but northeastern no matter they do successful you always down play there success this year. Win or lose they had a great year. I don't know why you have this much hate towards one team and there coach. The kids and there coaches work hard with the kids to get where they are. Let's be happy for them for making it this far. That's what it should be all about.

Two undefeated teams, great seasons obviously. Going to be better game to watch than the college playoffs.

Speaking of speed ... did these players go head-to-head in the state track meet last spring?

Like many of the people posting on this thread, I have not seen Monroe play this year. Hard to make a prediction if you haven't seen one of the combatants.

North Eastern was impressive the only time I watched them, although I thought the game with James Kenan was closer than the final score.

North Eastern has been knocking on the door for a while. It would be nice to see their coach break through, he has obviously poured his heart into that program. Goob can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he's been there since 2005. He has ONE losing season. His spot in the NCHSAA HOF is all but assured.

Cause they can't win the big game. Are you guys from NE this slow? I know that part of the state is terrible and way below living standards, but be serious, NE is trash and won't ever be relevant. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see this geez....

Joey Price had won six state championships before last night. I thought the family pedigree would maybe give Whiteville an edge if the game were close. And maybe it did, but if it did it didn't matter.

Again, I see a lot of people who probably haven't seen both of these teams play just completely disrespect a team who has won a LOT over the last twenty years. Confidence matters, and although I'm quite certain that everyone in an Eagle uniform will take Monroe very serious, they will also step on that field expecting to win.

I think the coaching “position” is the most importsnt on the field. However, it’s still up to the 11 out there to make the plays and do what has to be done, I think Monroes 11 will be the better 11.

Price hasn't done **** at whiteville, be serious. He did all his work at WRH, a powerhouse ...

You compared a team that wouldn’t had made it out the 2nd round maybe first in the west to Monroe. Y’all are delusional.
