I wouldn't say probably...there is 12 1a west teams....and there is currently 11 higher than albemarle in adjusted maxprep rankings....1.Murphy 2.robbinsville 3elkin 4thomas Jefferson 5mitchell 6winston Salem Prep. 7hayesville 8 Andrews 9 union academy. 10. Alleghany 11. North stokes....I know that's without last night's win taken into account but I seriously doubt albemarle can jump to 8 seed to get a home game....I'd say yall could be maybe get the 9 seed. Yall would have to do some serious jumping in order to get a home playoff game. Your best bet is to hope Mitchell goes big and then yall could get the 8 seed if y'all win and everyone listed 9 above loses this Friday which will probably happen. I just hope my Alleghany Trojans don't get left out altogether.
Can anybody shed some light on what Montgomery Central has...How good are they..know they record is not very good....
They beat Forest Hills and Graham who’s did not win a game this year. They also beat Thomasville the week after we lost to Thomasville. As far as the Bulldogs it just depends which team shows up. The one that outplayed North Rowan beat South Davidson and South Stanly they can win but if they play like they did at North Stanly they will get blown out.
Buddy, not sure what has happened since they beat Thomasville. But they put it to us worse than the final score showed. I felt like I was a visitor at Cushwa Stadium watching a classic Brown/Brown coached game. Maybe the challenge of meshing two teams of rivals finally caught up with them. But I’d never count out a team coached by those two. Seen it too many times where their teams have exploded at the end of the year.
We scrimmaged them and Salisbury back in August at Salisbury.. honestly both them and us just worse them out all over the field. It was quite surprising.
When you first look at them off the bus you will get freaked out as they are quite huge on the line and they have some good speed to them but come play time I found them to be quite disappointing. Their line's very un-physical and for the offense they run your line has got to love to thud people and they just didn't. They tried hard to do read option but it failed miserably so they Stuck with jet sweeps and razzle dazle runs. Defense didn't have good IQ and took forever to get to the ball which is surprising considering their speed. Their JV's had barely 20+ kids and were small.
It was surprising to see them down but I think if Brown can get established and win those kids over in a few years they can maybe be alright. Just not this year for sure.
