Yeah, he inherited a dumpster fire, and guess how long ago that was? Three years. I repeat, THREE YEARS. Not 3 months, not 3 weeks, THREE YEARS. I'm not sure if you're familiar with modern day college football but a whole lot of "dumpster fires" have been well on their way to being extinguished after 3 years (or are at least showing major signs that the fire is being put out). We have ZERO signs that things are heading in the right direction (and don't tell me about recruiting rankings..go ask Derek Dooley, Ed Orgeron, Ron Zook, Will Muschamp and about a dozen other fired SEC coaches how important recruiting rankings are). Recruiting rankings mean nothing in the SEC if you don't have a competent coaching staff to go with them.
I feel like I'm living in the twilight zone with all of these Stoops apologists mysteriously coming out of the woodwork all at once (99% of whom I have literally never seen post or visit this board). Stoops has the hottest seat of any coach in the SEC according to literally every single major college football website and blog, yet our genius fans continue to prop him up and ask for more time. Give me a break with this more time stuff. Just because some of you have low expectations for this program doesn't mean you have the right to poison others with your toxic views that are the reason this program has been where it's at for as long as we can remember. If you're happy with 2-10 and 5-7 that's fine, but keep it to yourself. This is a multi-million dollar RESULTS ORIENTED business, and we as Kentucky football fans deserve better. We deserve a better AD (that can actually make competent decisions) and a competent head coach and staff. We have neither.
I'm fine with Stoops getting a 4th year (although he hasn't earned it) but those of you arguing that he deserves 5-10 more years are living on a different planet and need to do some soul searching about why you actually follow this program. Rich Brooks himself went on Finebaum yesterday and said that next season will be a make-or-break year for Stoops and Co.
Brooks is one of the most patient football coach in the country and realizes the time it takes to build a program, so if he's saying next year is a make or break year then I think it's probably safe for some of you to take his word for it. But who knows, maybe the experts on here know more than him.
