Mount Airy vs Whiteville

It's been a while since I've seen Whiteville, but I asked around. They're not as good as they've been the last two seasons, but still a tough opponent. They didn't play well last night and lost a game they shouldn't have (on a TD pass with less than a minute to play), but they still shared their conference title because that whole conference was down a bit in 2015.
Quarterback makes that team go. They use a spread offense and are as likely to run or throw out of it. The closest thing I've seen around here is North Surry, but Whiteville spreads out its formations a lot more than NS does, based on what I was told and what I can tell from film of them online. (Look up Nydir Carr's Hudl page.)
They're still Whiteville, though. It's the same for them as kids playing for Mount Airy. They've had a long tradition of being good, and they'll make you earn it if you beat them, because they always do.

They beat Mitchell 28-0 lost to Starmount 35-24 , sweet ride home. I hope ours will be just as sweet.We made the trip to South Columbus in 2008....let's say it was a great ride home!!

To the best of my knowledge Whiteville has never played Starmount . I have no idea what coming to play South Columbus in 2008 has to do with playing Whiteville in 2015.
She was talking about beating S.Columbus in 2008 and having a sweet ride home. I was talking about what Whiteville did last year and said I hoped we had a sweet ride home. Guess I did not make it clear enough as to what I was talking about. My bad .
South Columbus was in the State Championship in 2007, lost a bunch of seniors. Still went undefeated in 2008 regular season but ran into a good Starmount team in the playoffs. Thought the Stallions
did very well that year to have such a young team. How did Starmount end up doing after they played South Columbus?

We went to Mt. Airy in 2009 in second round.
This looks like a big city when u go in parts. Beautiful there. But West Columbus locker room had no heat at all. Very cold that night.
Coach Storms and myself had to do radio from scaffolding that was mounted on a trailor. Big turn out for them,ranked #1 in state at that time. People very nice,Berman does their radio broadcast. We told no room in press box. But that's life,they had very good team that lost State to WRH by 1 pt.

Mount Airy should win this one. I have no confidence in the eastern teams this year. Why is Whiteville in the west anyway? Make much more since for a team from the middle part of the state to be west instead of Whiteville..
Will have you an updated Whiteville roster with JV players pulled up when you get here. Coach does a pretty good job of keeping MaxPreps roster updated. Do you know if Mt. airy roster on Max Preps is up to date? Hate to print out several before knowing. Thanks.

A little info for Mount Airy fans. Good places to eat close to the stadium, Dales Seafood, Waffle House, East Wind Chinese, and of course, KFC, Hardees, Wendys, Arbys and McDonalds. If you are staying overnight I would recommend Econo Lodge. Do not stay at the Holiday Motel. These businesses are located on 701 by-pass within 1&1/2 mile from ballpark. Safe travels and God Speed.

Yes, tell Alan or Lois, that Berry said for you to go, they have excellent fried seafood, and oysters by the bushel or roasts. Spend all the $$$ you can while in Columbus County we need it!!!!
