You could also go to Joe's Old Fashioned BBQ, Pizza Village, or Anthony's Italian Restaurant(formerly Mama Rita's). All very good choices.

Been around a long time. If seafood is what your desire, it is a good place to eat. Several Mexican eateries close by, and all the fast food your heart could desire. Joe's BBQ, if you have some time to kill would be my favorite personally. Welcome to Whiteville, we are a small, laid back, friendly town. Hope you enjoy your visit to Legion Memorial Field is a memorable one, we are a close knit community that truly love our PACK. Been to a couple of Mt. Airy games in the past. Had two nephews that played for West Wilkes back in the early 90's. Best I can remember very tough crowd that really got behind their team. Heard y'all usually travel well, we need the money. LOL

Looks like this is only the 2nd meeting ever between Mt. Airy and Whiteville. First was in 1938 for if not mistaken for the Class B state championship . Mt Airy won 26-18. My Daddy was a running back on that Whiteville team and also punted. He has been gone many years, but was one of his proudest memories.

They usually travel well but it is a long ways to drive especially if you work all day. Wish I could make it but game would be half over by time I got there. Will have to enjoy listening on the radio

I just heard they're is some road work going through the Laurinburg area before getting to Whiteville. May want to check on this and leave a little earlier than planed.

looking forward to the trip...always good to go to places I've never been....we have a guy that's the Bear football historian and Im sure he has info on that '38 game....he sent me a text Sat night and that was the first thing he mentioned was 2nd meeting b/t the 2 teams

For all the teams traveling this evening ,have a safe trip to and from your destination, And to the local teams bring home a victory wheather playing at home or away .Best of luck to The Northwest 1A , Western Piedmont - 2A & The Mountain Valley -1A--2A . Prayers that no one gets hurt on the field no matter who the team is !

Trying to get all area teams as of now but may find time and a tweeter from one of those schools to get those score in if I can.Getting all the local 16 teams will be a challenge and may come slow. Hoping if the ones coming slow that some at the game can post . Some areas may not have cell reception.

I may try to listen to both MA and Mitchell game. Winner of these games play each other was the reason I was asking
