I had my run with the taking of Whiskey Showers, and I always laughed it off. There are worse things in the world than walking out of a game (sitting in the student section) with some whiskey thrown on you. Whole different animal if you are sitting in the section with the blue hairs, at that point you have paid the right to not have a whiskey drink thrown on you, but when you pay $14 for season tickets...you gotta roll with the punches. Get the stick out of your ***, if you dont like a little whiskey being thrown on you, nut up and pay for season tickets outside of the student section.

Back in the day we took about 50 rolls of toilet paper from a storage closet and when the clock hit zero, it looked like New Years in the student section. I guess they locked em up after that.

Agree... It has to end 100% of the time.

The talk in this thread about it being conditional on the opponent is ridiculous. It is never acceptable to throw a drink, and not just because it's good whiskey or whatever. It's just not something humans who behave like reasonable people do. If you get so damn carried away at a football game that you can't help but toss a cup full of whatever out into a crowd, then you just need to stay at home and throw that **** at your own wall.

If someone wants to celebrate a "whiskey shower" just have your neighbor pour a drink over your head.

I've never in my life felt the impulse to throw a cup of anything in a crowd of people.

That would be awesome, but then you would have some yahoo complaining that they got hit in the head with Toilet paper

That would actually be awesome. You get the joy of throwing stuff without the risk of injury. It also looks pretty awesome too.

What's your Bulldog Club ranking? I can't wait until I get enough points to buy the no drink throwing seats. Right now I'm stuck in the smash your cowbell and cuss out Tyler Russell section where you are still expected to get doused with Coke. At least I got out of the hot dog throwing section.

i don't remember this being a big problem in my day (00-03), granted there weren't many reasons to waste a good whiskey drink from 01-03. but it's freaking stupid for anyone to argue for throwing full whiskey drinks because we make a good play. you are (1) wasting whiskey, (2) pissing off/annoying people in front of you, (3) potentially injuring someone with a direct hit (what happens if someone turns and catches a empty cup in the eye?), and (4) don't even try to tell me that when msu scores a TD, you lose so much control over your body for a few moments that you spastically throw a damn fine whiskey drink into the air. MAYBE i'd buy that reasoning if it was like the last minute of a game against bama or lsu and we scored a go ahead TD. MAYBE. the reality is that if you are throwing your whiskey drinks, you are just trying to be the "cool" obnoxious kid and probably need a good *** kicking to make you aware that your actions affect others.

^THIS^

Water would be fine.... heck, I'm sure many would welcome it on a warm, muggy September evening. But cokes/whiskey/sodas don't mix well with white shirts, hair, skin etc. The thrill of excitement is awesome but when you reach down and see your shirt is no longer white and feathers would stick to your skin, it becomes ridiculous.

Some of you idiots remind me of those crazy middle eastern ***** that shoot their guns in the air in some celebratory display of ecstasy. Wtf. If something can harm someone, for gods sake, don't do it. The only guys I can see possibly being down with a whiskey shower is a dateless prick..., not that there's anything wrong with that.

I don't see how confiscating whiskey is going to stop folks from throwing drinks. If they'll waste their alcohol they'll get rid of a regular coke real fast.

The fact that you're defending the rights to be a douchebag speaks volumes of you. I don't care if it's a student section seating or not. A majority of those people do not want to get pelted by someone else's partially consumed jack and coke. That is obnoxious, and the fact that they know that they more than likely won't get their asses beat because they're safely hidden amongst other douchebags is reason enough to stop.

You calling someone else who is clearly fed up with the **** an internet badass is funny to me because you and others like you are to afraid to admit to the countless people who were drenched that they threw it because they know that they would get their asses beat.

I would guess 90% of sodas are bought for the express purpose of being a mixer.

If you throw a drink on anyone, ever, for any reason, you're an ***. Period. Anyone who does it should be ejected from the stadium and repeat violators should not be allowed to buy student tickets.

Sorry! My dumbmass replied to the wrong post.

I am with you on the Whiskey throwing. Stupid thing to do and I would do everything in my power to make someone pay if they deserved it. 17 with my kids or wife, it is on. Drenching them with liquor is a no with me.

Annoying???

Like I said, throwing a bottle is ridiculous and could really hurt someone, throwing a plastic cup with some bourbon in it is harmless...annoying?

Really?? A plastic cup with coke/bourbon launched from the upper deck and hitting you (while you stand in the lower section) in the head will knock your little cocky *** flat out. Don't be so stupid. If one estimated that it was roughly 30 meters from the upper deck to the lower deck, a projectile will reach approximately 55 miles/hour in approximately 2.5 seconds as it fell......would it be simply annoying for you to stand on the side of the road and let a passing car toss a plastic cup with coke/bourbon at 55 mph and hit you in the back of the head...with no warning. You are just young, stupid and obviously have no grasp of anything other than trying to be an internet badass. You would probably be the first one screaming lawsuit if it happened to you or your girlfriend. Moron.

Naw, I agree. But this is like the 4th time in this same thread that he's made a reference to that meme. If you're going to be witty with memes, at least keep it fresh.

Before anyone else ***** their pants while typing on their keyboard, I said that I have no problem with someone throwing a drink in "THE STUDENT SECTION". I didnt say anything about someone throwing a drink from the top deck, out of a car, at small children, at women, at the elderly, or any other outrageous assumption you are trying to come up with. Obviously when it comes to your children it is a whole new ball game, and yes then as a man you should get up and kick someones ***. Dont try and twist what I said into something so you can beat your chest on a message board. I was simply referring to when I was student what happened, nothing more nothing less.

The student section extends into the "top deck." The student section isn't isolated to the lower deck by any means

Our tix are in section R, which happens to be in front of the student section. The lady that got nailed by the bottle a couple years ago was two rows in front of us. How she wasn't knocked out, I don't know. I can still see the glass shatter as it hit her skull.
With that being said, I don't have an issue with drinks raining down after a winning TD over Bama. But the day something damages my wife or kids skull that's thrown from above, that fence will be scaled and we'll go where the fingers point.

You're probably the little ***** wearing his coat and tie that scampered the first time someone even looked your way too.

Good fun? You really need to reassess some things.
