Jay Wright won't stop beating his chest about being an expert in coaching "New York City guards" and cites Randy Foye, Allen Ray, Corey Fisher, and Speedy Claxton.

Only two of those guys are from New York City.
When you win 2 national championships you get to talk about anything you want. NYC guards is also an expression for style of play…think that is what he meant.

With MSU and Arkansas losing, UCLA and UConn are the only teams remaining in the tourney that have won a national championship.

But that's Malik Hall. He made one, but alligator armed it in OT as well as in regulation. Wrong kid at the wrong time--twice!
Hall is an 87% free throw shooter, just a hair behind Hauser for second best on the team. Went 3-5 tonight, and you know he would love those two misses back

Tennessee like us without Simpson. Cant beat anyone off the dribble.

So long and so tough though.

Tennessee is Rutgers except their team hits more of the contested two pointers they have to settle for.

We've been talking about what if we still had Mag. Are you telling me you think we couldn't have beaten either of these teams with Mag? We were certainly playing at a 4/5 seed caliber before his injury.
Did you notice what post I replied to ? The “Paul would have had his way with..” absurdity. Paul gets outplayed almost every time he’s on the court but now he’d dominate ? That’s what I commented on.

With or without Mag we might have won or might have lost to any team in the tournament. Or the NIT. Would the team have been better with him ? Probably. But with him in the game there would be fewer minutes for Simpson, who we needed.

More points scored in UCLA/Gonzaga with 10:01 left in the first half than FAU/Tennessee has at halftime.

Yes, but those two misses especially the one in regulation may have cost them the game.

26 b10 tourney teams in the last 3 tourneys and only 1 made it to the elite eight. How does one argue that statistic? Every other power 5 conference has had multiple.

The question to ask is why is the conference so good early in the year and then fold in March.

The computers don’t lie. B1G beats the same teams in December that they lose to in March

No bottom feeders..every league needs 3 or 4

Schools need to start sucking again...ie NW and PSU

This year was a bit absurd though. I dont think we will see that tight pack from 2-9 again
