This will be a good test for mt airy it's not going to be any easier when we face east surry I think with our players we score with the best of them I work in eden it's a great town and man wow how can they turn a football program around in a year if you lose to reildsville by 7 it's almost like a win
Reidsville / Ma have a lot of history, I hear the rams are heading down to the 1a ranks next re alignment, man this would be a great non conference game to schedule with the history between the two. Better come to play this week , Morehead has a pretty good football team this year
As I’ve said a thousand times. Drop the Surry Central game and pick up another good Nonconference game.

Unsure of the record. But there’s no rivalry, plus a lot of Mount Airy fans just don’t attend that game, or they leave by half time.

Shewwwww , cycle hit a nerve print,,, where did that come from? You are a grown man right? To full cycle defense , whom I know personally , I stand with him on that, he is right. Yes Surry Central beat the Bears a few years back, 1st time in a hundred years . Even David got lucky against Goliath, just picking on that one, eagles got the w , that’s all that matters. But when you are typing your foolishness you remember 3 things, ma has been playing football as long as any team in this state, their winning percentage is amongst the best in the state, quite an accomplishment considering how long the school has been around, and yes they play for conference / state championship year in and year out. So yhea cycle has just a little bit of a leg to stand on with that, most Wilkes county fans are happy with finishing a little better than 3rd in the mvac. You sit down and shut up , then make that drive to the granite city to watch playoff football, or just maybe stay home and watch a little basketball since football season is over in November for your squad

Me myself had soon “watch” Mount Airy play a another school than S. Central.
What’s wrong with that.
We can’t get away from one or two conference games.
Because Raleigh won’t let them.
Have you even looked at the north west 1a standings?
There are two teams that has not won a game and two teams that have only won one game.
So “yes” i’d like the nonconference schedule to be better.

Lol...Gdawg loves to clap back at Wilkes..but he is wasting his time..Wilkes Central in most years would beat East Surry hands down..and would hang with Mt.Airy most years as well. Wilkes is a huge county and very spread out..It is amongst the largest in square miles in the state. Talent is definitely spread around the county..maybe it would have definitely benefitted Wilkes to have 3 schools instead of 4..Wilkes is not a hot bed for football..never ever said it was..and no one especially not you gdawg can make me shut up..i said it..you guys need to come down off of your high horse..enjoy your team..and stop thinking that you can beat everyone...I respect your team..unfortunately..you seem to forget that all rural schools such as Surry Central...EW..etc..doesn't have the luxuries of having a bigger city to pull the talent from, year in and year out. I stand by what i said..Reidsville would thrash you guys..most years...They are pretty much in 2a title games every year..It's no shame in that. Another dose of humble pie from Tarboro seems to be just what you guys need. Good Luck the rest of the season...and for the record you guys were rambling some of the same foolishness..the day of the Surry Central game when they thrashed you guys..anything can happen..i guess that's why you continually play the game.
If your not a Bear you just wouldnt understand! Love us or hate us you will remember us and sure as heck respect us! This year will be another blow at against SC. In 2008 MA tried to give sc $2000 to not play us that year to play a good team from va To make us better. SC declined the offer and lost like 65-0. Go Bears!!!!!
Nobody hates..it just that most of you guys could use a little humility along the way. As far as Wilkes losing in early rounds..then i go watch someone else lose in the later rounds..and at the end of the day..both squads were left watching someone else hoist the championship trophy..so I'm good. You guys have another great shot at it this year. Wish i could say the same for a team or two in Wilkes instead of in girls basketball or wc golf teams..

To say Tarboro made MA humble wth???? It was 12-0 with 5:47 left IN THE GAME! MA wore out as they play alot both ways as TArboro dressed 57 players. And our QB sprained his ankle bad late in the fourth and hurt us on D the side thise long runs happened. Humble whatever Tarboro was better but we were in the ship playing for the 8th in school history. Humble get a clue dang!
Look dude...excuses excuses...you guys were never in that game. LoL. You put up a great fight..but you guys weren't a threat at all in that particular game. The game between you guys and Murphy was a much more entertaining game to watch really it was.
EW is from Wilkes..despite all the bashing Wilkes County gets. I'm a proud homeowner and resident of it as well. Thanks.

I really don't think the Bears want to play Reidsville every year. The rams may be a little down this year but most schools shy away from them.

Yep, these 2 programs have ties to 1922!!
I was actually born in Leaksville as my dad worked for Duke Power back then.
We (Mt. Airy) didn't play Draper High school because they played 6 man football like Dobson, Flat Rock and some other schools in that era.
Pilot Mountain started out with 11 man football, but dropped down to 6 man football for a while.
