I don't know much about Mt Heritage,just by looking at the scores of their games this year,they seem to have a high scoring offence,but give up some points on defense...don't think these teams have ever played eachother before in football...thoughts?

The Bulldogs have never played Mt Heritage. Mt Heritage beat Polk Co by 1 point earlier this season.
I am still waiting on our offense to be consistent for an entire game. I have no words for our special teams.

Polk always seems to play them good. I think Heritage overall is a much better tan though. Their run defense is really good. They are extremely physical but they struggle with a team who spreads it out and throws on them. If you look at the games like Erwin and Hendersonville you'll see be defense struggled. That's because both teams like to throw the ball. Not many teams have had too much success running against them.
Looks like we have our work cut out for us,we have always been a run first team...our defense isn't really big,but their really quick fast kids that play with a chip on their shoulder and are playing with ALOT of confidence right now...they have been holding it down for us all year long,but that's always a typical Thomasville football team
Take it with a grain of salt but it some P.Grove fans that were at the game said that heritages defense was one of the best they saw all year. Again, take it for what it's worth. I do know that if Thomasville lines up and tries to run between the tackles all night then that runs right into Heritages strength. You never know though, Thomasville may run all over Heritage.
Heritage likes to run the ball out of a spread offense and will run 3 or 4 different backs at you all game. There main weapon is there sophomore QB who is a 2000 yard rusher. Once you key on the run there not afraid to throw the ball either. They usually throw to number 10 who is probably 6 foot or so with really good hands. Also runs his routes really well.
From what I have seen from watching Thomasville all year and hearing about Mt Heritage I think it's gonna be another sloppy, physical, defensive game. Thomasville thrives in these types of games because of their experience. To win this game Thomasville needs to run outside and utilize their speed. If Mt Heritage wants to win they need to score fast and often to get our defense down because our offense does not have the firepower to come back after getting down three or four scores.
When Heritage played 1AA Mitchell this year, who is there biggest rival, they exploded on offense and went up 35-0 in the second quarter and it was a huge shock to everybody because Mitchell in my opinion could very well come out of the 1AA west and play for the state title. Mitchell had a massive line, a talented sophomore QB, a WR who has at least a 4.5 forty, and a stable of running backs...but Heritage completely dominated that game. Mitchell tried to make it a game in the second half but just couldn't overcome the deficit. I'm not sure what to think about this game though to be honest. I know that they are capable of putting up a lot of points, but they're also capable of shutting a team down and winning in a low scoring game like they did against West Henderson who ran the ball the majority of the time. I agree with BigDawg in that I think Thomasville needs to run outside and try to hit the edge and turn it up field because if Heritage has one weakness in the defense its the secondary. The front 7 have played extremely well against the run this season. I'm extremely excited about it though and I think its awesome that Heritage gets to play such an awesome program like Thomasville.

Biggest kid on the Heritage roster is around 260, not massive for sure. QB is a good player and the OL looks pretty good. Thomasville has multiple players on defense that are 4.5 or better so they can man him up. Speed, execution and penalties are three keys to who wins this game. If 22, 21, 31 from the dogs get loose it is a TD. They will have to stop 16 from Thomasville out wide. MH has been in a bunch of blowout wins and Tville has played lots of close games but have found a way to win. Will be a good ballgame. Only common opponent was Polk and both won against them.
I watch some of the Polk and Thomasville game, the Bulldogs do have speed, but no one on their team has 4.5 speed. Should be good close game.
Thomasville does have some players that clocked a 4.5 or greater. Real life gameplay is a lot faster than watching film.

Thomasville wins this one 21-14. I don't see Mt. Heritage scoring 28 points on that Bulldogs defense.
I hope we can keep it close...we have speed guys who can cover a lot of ground quick fast and in a hurry...if it ain't red it's dead

One thing about it, the Bulldogs have a great deal of speed on both sides of the ball this year. It is going to be very difficult for an opposing team to come into Cushwa Stadium and get a win. These kids are playing like they are on a mission right now.
These kids are definitely on a mission because most of these guys are seniors and know it could be their last time stepping on the field in high school. Also a lot of these guys started on varsity as freshman and this experience is really paying off in these close games.
Hey guys do not underestimate MT. Heritage. I am a PG fan and we just got chewed up by that run game. We thought our defense was to tough to run on but they did. They have a sophomore QB that has rushed for over 2000 yards and a RB rushed over a 1000. Their line blocks well (Best I seen in 2 years). I am pulling for the Dawgs. Just DO NOT underestimate them.
I don't think anyone is underestimating Mt. Heritage; however, I still don't see them scoring 28 points on Thomasville.
Oh trust me ALLREAL Mt Heritage has all the dogs attention,I'd like to see us get some good hits on their QB,and maybe get into his head a bit and make him think twice about what he's gonna do,I don't know much about the teams they played as far as defense,but we could be the best defense they seen all year up to this point,we need to lay the lumber to them from the get go,play aggressive,play on the edge,and come out like your hair is on fire.
Lol our QB has been hit last year as a freshman Jager Gardner laid the wood to him and he kept coming! Don't think that approch will slow him he has took some punishment but he also has dished some out this year!

That was just one man,we have a bit more than that,who don't mind laying it on the line every single play,they be been doing it all year,but have took it to a whole new level about the last 4-5 games,they are a confidence group,even if they get down a bit,their gonna keep coming
Tvilledawg how did Randleman qb do against yall earlier in the year. Randleman QB is very smart, but Mt. Heritage qb seems alot more effective on the ground. My advice is do not send the house he WILL make you pay. LB need to be discipline and stay home let him come to them. That qb is special.
I didn't make the randelman game,but we did shut them out 13-0,if that's an indication I'm not sure...maybe someone who was at the game can comment on it
If 31 plays on offense this week they better watch out. If we choose not to then we will just have to rely on our defence. The offensive play calls are for the most part horrendous. Either way thomasville will come out on top. If Thomasville had an offense to match their defence they would definitely be a serious contender for the state championship. Hopefully they will get it clicking.
Mt Heritage is a team that runs on the QB. Coaches son, but he is good. Stop him and you win the game. Don't stop and everything works off him. Played a great game against Mitchell County and that proves he can't be spooked. At the time they were undefeated and if I remember correctly they went up 35-0. Kicking game, clock management, play calling and penalties that show lack of discipline. Any two of those can lose the game for Thomasville, regardless of the opponent. Fix at least three of them and we stand a chance.
Frankly, I was embarrassed by the performance last week. As one poster put it, "hero ball" will be our downfall. Hopefully, the coaching staff can get through to the kids who repeatedly put us in the hole with smack talk and attempts at intimidation. That Superman pose might work for Cam Newton, but it only looks foolish on a seventeen year-old kid. And, when it hurts your team,as Dean Smith used to say, "Come sit by me.".

Neither team will quit and both will play hard for the win. Thomasville has a really good defense that has seen kids like the QB from Heritage all year and have allowed only 121 points. West Mont, Lexington, Polk County, Starmount, North Rowan, S Lee to mention a few have very athletic kids with big numbers the dogs have stopped. If the QB from Heritage can adjust to that closing speed of the Dogs DE's, LB's and Corners then it will be a barn burner.
Flip side, can a good Heritage defense stop that speed out of the back field, seal the corner and limit those fast receivers from getting behind them. Both teams have adequate size upfront, run the ball well and can pass. The old saying "speed kills" may or may not apply in this game. Both are well coached and will play with emotion, one wins and the other celebrates a good season and moves onto basketball and wrestling season.
