When State has the ball with a minute left 1st-Goal at the LSU 2 and can't pull an upset... just sayin'

Fact. The teams Mullen has lost to at MSU are a combined 168-20 when not playing each other. If you throw out his first season they were 104-7. So yeah. Just keep bitching about how he wasn't the 8th loss for all those teams. You're just making yourself look bad. I honestly have to believe you're just trolling when you keep posting about this.

Sure. You could have just said he's lost to SEC schools. I expect SEC schools be 110-0 when they play out of conference opponents.

Mullen has won 28 games and counting in his 4 years at MSU. Other than 2007-2010 when Jackie won 33, that's the most since WWII. I'm really not sure why it baffles you that MSU fans would like him.

So was Alabama a couple of days ago. Fact is, Texas A&M is damn good and almost impossible to adequately prepare for the 1st time you see them.

1st point. Jackie took us to Atlanta. Played competitively against conference opponents. Pulled Upsets.

2nd point. How did Florida, LSU, LA-Tech, TSUN play so well against A&M first time they played/"saw" them?

Jackie took us to Atlanta with 8 wins...Mullen is about to win 8 games for the 2nd time in 4 years

All these teams you mentioned have handed our faces to us for a decade!!! Who cares if they are down? You'll never surpass them in the pecking order if you never beat them - even if they are down!

Are we supposed to beat Arkansas this week? Our record vs. Arkansas SINCE THEY JOINED THE SEC is 4-15-1. 3 Wins belong to Jackie, 1 to Croom, 0 to Mullen.

The point is if Mullen can't beat somebody when they are down, he's sure not going to beat them when they're on top!!!!!!

Link to a team that Mullen has lost to "when they are down"? Oh, that's right...

So, we lost to 3 teams in the top 8 and that is "baflling" to you? Those are not top 20 teams, they are top 8 teams. TOP EIGHT. A&M, LSU, and BAMA are on cruise control for their final two games as well... their rankings will go up. Will likely finish at/very near the top 5.

Realistically, more like top 5 teams /=/ top 20 teams. Stupid argument.

"The next two games are must win games" - NO joke? When was the last time we lost to two teams(or any team) that received zero votes in ANY poll? I'll be waiting...48 games in... zero losses to teams as bad as the two we are about to play... and they are MUST WINS? Wow.

38-7
38-13
37-17
You're right. Why should we expect to play Top 10 teams within three touchdowns? Ranked teams aren't supposed to do that. Oh wait...

I don't think teams with a losing record get any votes in the polls. Remind me if they have changed that since last week. But maybe that's why State dropped out of the polls: to accommodate the "Affirmative Action" Schools.

Anyways, our all-time record against Arkansas is pathetic. And nobody wants to beat Mullen more than TSUN to get bowl eligible. But please don't act like these AREN'T must wins.

In Sherrill's defense - we were 6-2 in the SEC with losses to two teams we should have beaten. One being a 4-7 LSU team that we lost to 41-6 which further illustrates my point we will never beat LSU again in my lifetime.

LOL @ the 1st point. Same season we backed into Atlanta, Jackie also lost to a 5-6 Oklahoma State and got blown out 41-6 by a 4-7 LSU team. But you are right, he pulled upsets. He also got upset at least once by non-bowl teams with losing records in 11 of 13 years, but why let that get in the way of your agenda of remembering the Jackie years as soooo much better than what we are experiencing right now.

You haven't watched A&M play at all have you? Just admit it and move on.
Florida - First game of season for A&M. First game of CAREER for Manziel. Florida able to dominate TOP.
LSU - Manziel throws 3 ints + 2 fumbles. 5 turnovers. Lost by 5.
Ole Miss - Manziel throws 2 ints + 4 team fumbles. 6 turnovers. Won by 3 in first SEC road game.
La Tech - 2 Turnovers. La Tech has an NFL rb and a likely first-round deep threat WR. The huge weakness of A&M's defense is the deep ball. We had no deep threat receiver to exploit it.

What are you even talking about?

What does our alltime record against Arkansas have to do with anything? When was the last time we beat Florida in the Swamp prior to Mullen? When was the last time we beat Georgia at all? When was the last time we beat Tennessee? When was the last time we won an SEC opener? When was the last time we had a hat trick in the Egg Bowl? When was the last time we beat an SEC team 4 in a row? When was the last time we took 3 straight SEC road games from a given team? Last time we won 15 straight nonconference games? All that to say...historical statistics mean VERY little to each individual game.

Where did I act like they aren't "MUST" wins? Oh, that's right, I didn't. I simply implied that they are EXPECTED wins. A sampling size of 48 gives me a pretty good reason to believe that we SHOULD beat both of these teams, not that we are in some desperate position as some kind of underdogs after losing to 3 of the top 8 teams in the country.

You might want to take a look at the 1998 SEC standings and the records of the teams we played in conference that year. There's no comparison to the kind of schedules Mullen has faced in conference. I'll help you. The standings and records are below. The 3 teams we didn't play in the regular season were Tennessee, Georgia & Florida.

And if that's the worst you can find to ***** about Dan Mullen, we're in very, very good shape with our football program. Better than we've ever been.....Just sayin'
