I believe it will be close for sure. Murphys defense is pretty stout but Anderson and Hooper will get theres. May come down to who wins the penalty and turnover battle
Watched the game todayat Raburn Robbinsville’s line smaller than usual, but scrappy as usual as well. 77 is a player on both sides of the ball . Hooper and Anderson both good backs one just has a straight ahead running stylewith good speed and the other has good speed and can make people miss. QB is good passer. Had several ballsdropped today. Promises to be a good one at the Big Oaks . That being said Raburn had some success on the ground and o lot through the Air on Robbinsvilles defense. Raburn just couldn’t find defense to stop R villes running attack. Think this will be a question of Murphy’s defense against the Robbinsville offense. Think Murphy will have enough ground attack and just enough passing to be successful against Robbinsville defense. How successful they are in keeping Robbinsviles grind game in check will decide outcome of this one . of course doesn’t that decide most games. Defense

i dont really agree, the only time since Walsh has been coach that Robbinsville should have beat Murphy on talent that they didnt was 09.
We are thinking the same. Robbinsville just doesn't beat Murphy unless they are clearly better. I cant remember Robbinsville beating a better Murphy team or if it has even happened in the last 30 years
I think you could say the same about Murphy and Swain. Murphy never beats Swain unless there way better it seems like. I can name a lot of times over the years Murphy shouldve beat Swain if just going by talent
I don’t think R’ville has been ever favored to win against Murphy. 14 & 15 both state championship years, R’ville picked to lose the conference game. Murphy will always be perceived better by shear size and talent pool.
I would say Robbinsville was for sure favored in '93, '99, '04 and '15, at least they were by me. Cant say any farther back than that .
Well I know in 15 we were picked to finish 3rd in Conference. But it doesn’t matter it’s a new year and it’ll be a battle come Friday.
If R'ville can't beat Murphy and Swain they can't win the state ship, that's the way it has always been
In years past when Robbinsville has beat Murphy they had two things that made the the difference in the game A dominating offensive and Defensive line and very talented skill people at back and QB. Think u have some of that this year. Not sure about all of having all of that this year. That being said Murphy not as proficient in balanacef Attack as they have been in yrs past. Makes for an interesting matchup
not by me, I understand line play wins the day. Thats why Murphy wasnt as good as they should have been last year, line wasnt nearly as good as the 16 team.

If Murphy had a balanced offense I would feel good about the game because the defense is solid at all 3 levels and the run game is stout and the o-line solid. But cant always have it all. Just strange seeing Murphy like this because theyve had a good passing game for a long time now. This is the most smashmouth Murphy has been on offense in 15 years
Passing game has had flashes this year but hasn’t been consistent it will come because all the tools are there Three speedy receivers who can fly and a QB with a good arm and greet football knowledge. Kid has had it fed to him since he started walking Just hasn’t been consistent yet

Hope your right. Thought they were turning a corner at Central Davidson, #2 had some good throws that night and a couple balls that his receivers just dropped on him. Was expecting to see that carry over against North GA and it was like it was back to square one again.
Ever played poker. Sometime don’t show that hand till it’s tome to call. Have confidence that our coaches will have it worked out by Friday
I'm interested to see this matchup kind of a role reversal. Murphy with a big Aggressive line and a stingy defense, Robbinsville with a take it to the house at any time offense.
If Robbinsville goes to there 4 corners it could be a long night because this Murphy offense is kind of grindy too . I could see a 21-28 ball game. Or a 56-50 shootout depending on what coaching tactics come into play. One thing for sure you have two teams that like to hit and are physical should be fun to watch.

Man I hate writing this, after watching both teams this year the Robbinsville faithful are going to be very disappointed ( me included). I could get on here and say anything as far as a prediction but let's be realistic, IMO Murphy is head and shoulders above Robbinsville at this point in the season. Like I said before , no bigger Black Knights fan than me. Murphy 42. Robbinsville 12

Most thought we would be down but a few new guys on here talking about how good we going be. At this point im just looking to pick off Swain or Cherokee.
Should be a dandy with terriffic atomsphere of a packed house at Big Oaks Stadium...With all the hype for weeks, and with questions about just how good either team really is, it's the classic definition of a "statement game"...the winning team will be the clear cut favorite to win the SMC and be in position for a deeeep playoff run.....Robbinsville's running backs have recieved well deserved headlines for thier eye popping numbers, but something tells me this fine stable of Murphy backs is gonna have a chip on thier shoulders with something to prove.
I’ve seen Murphy play this year but not Robbinsville. Murphy has a lot of weapons and a stout defense. The Qb is a great athlete who has been thrust into that role for the first time in his career. If you have never been a QB and all of a sudden it’s your responsibility it can be overwhelming especially in a close big game Robbinsville has two great backs and is always very aggressive on defense playing on the edge. If I can’t make the Andrews vs Rosman game at Rosman I will be at this one. Should be a battle
Wow , have you been under a rock? Hooper is much more a danger to take it to the house every play.. Anderson is more a power runner..
I promise you if you contain Anderson we don't become just like any other team, especially Andrews.
Our line has only played 4 games togetherever. All first year starters. I dont think any are seniors except WR/DE. By playoff time The Black Knights will be a tough match for anyone.
If we lose by 21, Murphy should have a cakewalk through conference. Not saying it couldn’t happen but if we can’t muster a hard fought game then there is little hope for the rest of the conference.
With you on that...Our boys can’t come in expecting to lose. I think we have all had our humble pie and now come Friday I expect a classic game between storied rivals.
