The Alarm Clock was from my era (and area) in Santa Barbara. There was a fantastic band there called the Dovers that recorded a mere eight songs, which were regionally successful but didn't get to national mainstream. Unfortunately, drugs & poor management kept them from stardom. They DO have cult status all these years later. Here are two of their great songs:
