An Arky fan on TD reported that there is speculation on the local news that Mustain is interested in transferring to State.

I think Relf is really growing on me. I'm not sure that I would take Mustain over him.

At the same time, I don't think we should throw Mustain to the curb. I just haven't been all that impressed with him when I've seen him play- which isn't much.

I think if Mustain is interested, there's no reason to not let him come and try to win the spot. I bet Mullen would love to try and perform a "fixer-upper" on him... Mustain is very talented.

I agree 100%, but I would still take him. Let him compete. If he's better than Relf, then we will still more than likely start him and run Relf in the Wildcat.

But why would he transfer to a run-heavy spread option school? Only reason I can think of is to give a giant 17 you to Houston Nutt. If he's got that big of a grudge against Nutt, I'm totally OK with that.

that he should consider MSU. Would have been better for Croom's system, not too close but not too far from home, and he would own the campus. Now he's considering what he should of done ....what, three years ago?</p>

I think it's a compliment to the job that Dan has done with Relf. I mean, if Mustain comes in, he's going to have basically the fall pre-season practices to learn Dan's offense. On top of that, Mustain really hasn't done much to back up his hype, granted I thought him going to SC was kind of stupid on his part.

Like I said, I feel really comfortable with Relf as the QB right now. He's not the best passer in the world, but he runs the option really well, and I think he is going to get better as a passer as time goes on. He also knows the offense better than Mustain would, and he's familiar with our personnel.

I'm not against Mustain coming on board at all. I just don't see him living up to his hype, and I'm not sure that he would beat out Relf. He may be if he's THAT good. But, at the same time, SC started a true freshman who didn't exactly set the world on fire last year, and apparently Mustain couldn't beat him out.

The funny thing about all of this is you have Newton at Auburn running Mahlzahn's offense, and possibly Mitch Mustain at MSU running Dan's offense. You would think that would be reversed.

Resist the urge. You have seen this episode many times. You know how it ends. Why do you want to do this to yourself aGAIN?
