Anyways, did West Stokes and Walkertown play on JV last night or are they both off this week?
I'm also missing the scores to the JV games of Elkin/SC and Prep/Walkertown. If anyone knows them let me know. I'll try to have standings up in the afternoon if I have the time.

That's the first time anyone's said anything about it to me. Wow. Prep had a decent little team last year.

Glad to see another full slate of games for this Thursday. I found last week's Walkertown score so I'll be good to go record keeping by this weekend after this slate of games are finished.

First JV score I have seen tonight. Guess everyone is watching West Stokes Walkertown
North Surry 30 Atkins 14
Typical post MA JV game. We played solid for the last 2 weeks but we didn't play our best tonight but when it mattered we got the W. 1st half was mostly solid and we led 23-0 at the half with 3 TD's and a safety; 2nd half we didn't put it away like we should have and let them score on a botched punt and on the stringers. We gotta learn how to finish games but I think we will get there. Happy to be 4-1 with these kids it's been a surprise for sure. Still got the big games to go; hope we have a solid 2 week break and come out hungry.
Atkins has some big boys for a JV team; two to three big lineman that are solid size to be JV aged. They ran it 95% of the time out of the I and wing, passing game wasn't a factor. They won't beat East or MA but I see them competing with North Stokes/Walkertown/Bishop in NW play.

appreciate the scores...we use them on the radio (Friday mornings) give JV some love
I agree 100% Bareman; that's why I started doing these threads years ago. We never got anything like this in my JV days so I figured I'd give the kids chances now.

These are down out of Microsoft Word so forgive me for the cliche look.
Like with the varsity side the MVAC JV conference is wide open right now heading into conference play. East Wilkes the overbearing champions last year look to have their hands full this week with a surprising 2nd place North Wilkes team tonight. 3rd place West Wilkes will have their hands full with a talented offense in Wilkes Central. Alleghany who started off strong plays a down and out Ashe team who hasn't caught a break on JV. Then you have Elkin and Starmount which you can throw the record books out for. Last year Elkin beat Starmount for their final win of the JV season; but this is a new year. Going to be an interesting set of games tonight for every school and the standings could change rapidly.
This conference could very well be open until November and I wouldn't be surprised if so.
By the way does anyone know the score of Elkin and Surry Central on JV? Still need that for Standing purposes. Deena do you know or could you find out? Thanks
The Northwest is very hard to figure this year. This alignment so far has been East Surry's on JV's playground; and there's a chance it could be as well this year. As for the rest of the conference I don't know.
Only East and MA have played more than 2 games so far so it's not a great way to show anything for anyone. With WS Prep not fielding a JV team it makes things more odd; Prep were the upset darlings last season on JV and added some intrigue. With them gone I don't know if there is another team that will do that.
That being said North Stokes and Atkins looks to be much improved; how much we don't know but N Stokes won a game so far and Atkins has played W Wilkes and North Surry more than usual their first two matchups. It might not mean much for either one but they might not be as bad. North Stokes is looking iffy to finish the season right now though given their numbers issues; so that might be interesting to watch. Bishop may get 3rd place with Walkertown struggling early.
The WPAC unlike the Northwest is a little more more easier to figure. North Surry's off to their best start in 5 years on JV. North has 2 weeks off before playing West Stokes in King which will show a lot of how the conference will go. West's off to a fine start as usual and play North Rowan. South Stokes is surprising with a 2-2 record and a decent defense. They look to have carried over that D from last season. Central and Forbush are off to rough starts but Central looks to be the better of the two; 2 years ago those two teams were in the same spot and Forbush won so I expect another random matchup between those two later in the year.
The real enigma here's Carver. For a while they weren't fielding a JV team but now they are somehow and have only 1 game under their belts; a loss to North Forsyth. Have no clue how they are overall are so it's going to be hard to predict. Their game with Central in two weeks will show a lot in that regard.
Going to be a interesting race to the end for this conference for sure.

EW 28, NW 6 Final. East looked to have took care of business against North Wilkes in Hayes; North put up a effort in the 2nd half; just couldnb't stop the option from running the clock off.

Surry Central got a win on a long ride down to Salisbury 17-14; a real thriller from way to looks. Central's first win of the year on JV unless they beat Elkin.
WC beat west 28-8 according to Twitter. Looks like another season ending showdown with EW is looming again.

Hmm expecting it be much closer; Atkins has some big boys. East is better fundamentally so I shouldn't be surprised. Did they run #72 at Fullback? He was all they had on offense against us last week.
No they ran #44 at full back and#22 at tail back. Not throwing stones but they just struggled. They only earned I believe 2 first downs all night. They got a couple on penalties against us. Big kids that play hard but the seemed rattled or something. No JV game for us next week because of the endowment game with South Stokes.
Yeah they ran those two at us about all night. They kept trying to force piles all the time when they were running; I found it rather weird. Couldn't get anything until they put #72 in; but it was on the younger kids they got points. A couple of those kids should be playing varsity for them. Oh well.
Have you all found anyone for that open date in October JV wise yet?

I'm surprised; figured they'd move the game to tomorrow since Varsity's off. JV and Varsity for MA next week will have two different opponents. Interesting.
