Wondered how Beau Maye could attend Hough, and his Brother be at MP? How does that work residency wise?

People with 💰 can do whatever they want. Sad world in highschool sports these days. When I was in school. Never got a transfer, no one transferred out period. Wasn't a thing. These days every year, these schools have different rosters from kids all over. Shine at one school, next year at a powerhouse program. Crazy times to say the least....

Do you know how many players Chambers sent away? They turned around tons of players that would have helped them win the state this year. They got a bunch of MC guys because MC had a huge coaching change and has underperformed whereas Chambers has flourished. Do you know how many players left MC during their dominant run? Player movement is gonna happen, just like band transfers, baseball transfers, math transfers, and performing arts transfers. But no one cares about those. Just football and basketball.

Lia Thomas plays by the rules but most would agree its not fair. CC/CG play by the rules but most would agree its not fair. CG is loaded with talent and easily beat a super Chambers team with all these so called transfers. Beat MP with all these transfers. CG easily beat Richmond County a great HS team. There has to be a balance. Hell if not for the transfers CG might have not had a single digit win all season
Please list the CG transfers? They have had a 3 year run. May have a few more, but this is not a team built of transfers. They are hot now and might be for the next few seasons. NO ONE tales about how talented they were when lost to chambers game one, MP a few
Weeks later. No one talked about how great they were getting blown out by Grimsley last year. What about them getting blown out in 3AA? They are hot now. Remember WFs run. That is my school but things go in cycles. I watched CG build and the number 1 factor is the same core of coaches over last 10 years. I think the DC came on About five years ago and he’s considered new there. For 10 years building each season. WF would be the same if not for splitting out Rolesville. I remembered when we laughed at them coming to WF. Watched them struggle versus ravens Croft and get thoroughly demolish by Heritage 4 years ago.

It’s the standard protocol in NC, when you win State Championships. It must have been the new transfers you got, something fishy going on over there. Nobody talks about the hard work and preparation. Now because of their success, just like every State Championship team in NC. New kids will start gravitating to their program. Win and they will come.

If you look at the rosters of Chambers & CG, collectively Chambers has way more talent. Gibbons was more prepared, and out coached Chambers, and they were a better football team when it mattered. Congrats to CG. The 2nd Championship is much harder though. You’re now the hunted, and now you’ve become every teams Super Bowl.

So when you guys had the pregame fireworks 💥 And after beating 2 other Charlotte teams in the playoffs, you guys were so confident you would beat Vance, just about every social media high school page in NC had 1000’s of Richmond county fans coming out the Woodworks talking smack, about beating Vance. Shortly after the light show. Vance put on a backyard beat down. Beating the breaker’s off of Richmond 38-7 “Everybody in the State said no way, it was because of recruiting. Ok Gotcha! Now that’s a new one.
When U have that many teams in the system , ONE OF THEM IS BOUND TO MAKE GOOD WHEN THEY GET LOADED UP....Im going here , no Im going there , Lets both go together as a package...U KNOW IT AND EVERYONE ELSE KNOWS IT...Hopefully now someone in CMS is keeping an eye on things and makes the playing field in CMS level for ALL the coaches and TEAMS that are located there...

Yeah level the playing field. Having four direct feeder MS, an entire county to choose from, an entire youth football program dedicated to only your team with RC coaches affiliated with it, getting ellerbee, hamlet, rockingham, east rohanen and all them cities. Having a seperate 9th grade academy, being a SC border county.... ill leave it at that.

The 2 main programs that are getting new kids in Charlotte, that I personally know for a fact have illegal kids, are Hough and Myers Park. That are. as you say loaded up. How has that worked out for them? Hough has been loading up for 10 years. :) Richmond beat both loaded teams. So stop with the crap of what you think I know, and everyone else knows. You don’t know. That’s why you’re throwing stuff out there. I guess LEESVILLE Rd, who beat Richmond had illegal kids also. Stop whining and making up excuses, and get better. IJS 🤷🏿‍♂️

Richmond was loaded a couple of years back at every position, along with depth. They couldn't get it done. What's going on with CMS, had absolutely nothing to do with it. MAN UP!

The starting center for the Gamecocks, the starting center for the Wolfpack, and the starting right tackle for UNC:C 49ER'S, who transferred from Florida, Starting right guard for NCAT. All played together since the 9th grade. 1st round draft pick this year Jordan Davis was on JV, who came to Mallard Creek in the 10th grade. These are the players the Creek had across the board. 95% of the players have been with the program since the 9th grade.

So when you say players getting together and saying, I'm going here, let's both go together as a package. Who and the Hell spot are these new kids going to take???? Please explain your uninformed logic.

100%. Nepsy Not really sure they know how HS football works. Ill take a big county school with good tradition with feeder middle schools and the only game in town vs. an urban school in a metropolis. When we have these debates we only mention the winners and teams that get transfers. You have 4-5 good teams in CMS and a bunch of avg, and then a bunch of trash. One of the reasons RC, SC, CC, CG succeed at a high level is a lack of direct competition in its area. Indy had a run, then Butler, MC/Chambers, WC has Harding, WM, Berry in a 2-3 mile radius. Providence has SM, Olympic, AK, and now Palisades. Garinger has EM, Chambers. NM has Hough, Chambers. Every school in CMS has direct competition from a similar type school. RC closest highschools are Anson County almost 30 miles away, Marlboro County 27 miles away and Pinehurst almost 30miles away. I'd call that a HUGE advantage. A disgruntled player or family is kind of stuck at RC. In a metro area that player you developed since the 9th grade, helped out, took to camps just up and leaves.

Colquitt County in Georgia, who has similar numbers to Richmond, when comparing to large metropolitan area Schools in NC, beat the breakers off of Atlanta schools, who have over 1000 more students. No complaining, They're just Nationally ranked every year.

Correct. There is only so much football playing talent available yearly. What MC and Chambers were able to do was simply amazing. Those teams were 80-85% home grown home grown talent. It starts with youth ball in the area. For a while the MC/University area was just flat out stockpiled. Previously the Mint Hill/ Matthews area was stockpiled. MC simply was better coached, and prepared than those teams. Chambers may have had the best coaching staff in the state with Brand/Ferebee

I'm not going to name all the schools, but it doesn't take a brain surgeon to know who gets the transfers. Already discussed a QB who went from 71st to Britt, then to Hough. And there was the QB who went from Westover to Scotland for a season, then graduated that spring from Westover. C'Mon man, this happens everywhere.
I specifically meant the SAC, but is it recruiting though? Obviously happens in fayetteville considering it's a large city with what 10-11 high schools all remotely close to each other.

Richmond County has an amazing set up and does it the right way. The two high schools in Lee County could have some upset people based on feeder schools, but overall they are clean. They just have to worry about Raleigh poaching. Pinecrests district is evolving and growing, don't think it will correlate to football though in the future.

I am all for a family actually moving to a better school's district to better their kids opportunity at success, I just don't know how they will crack down on coaches actually recruiting via social media unless a student-athlete reports it.

Poaching? Poaching has been defined as the illegal hunting or capturing of wild animals, usually associated with land use rights. Be specific! :) You need to take a long break, and come back with some creditable evidence. If you were a ship. You would be at the bottom of the ocean right now.

Kids have been moving from one school to the next for 20-25 years. The last 10 has been something. I have been on both ends of it and it is what it is. Your metro areas winston/Greensboro. Raleigh/Durham. Charlotte and Wilmington have always had kids “relocating “. Anyone want to know why Page was good back In the day 1980-1990s because they had kids move in. In the late 1990s you had WS Carver taking kids from everywhere you had Northern Guilford getting kids from out of district hell even crest took kids from Burns in Cleveland county. You had Eastern Randolph taking kids from all over Randolph county. Davie County sometimes gets kids from Rowan county It has happened for decades all over the state and it will not stop guys.

What information did you provide, that would be eating me up? You're the only one who's creating imaginary people you spoke with, and creating your own numbers and results :) 85% of 50 LAMO! Your embarrassing yourself, and I’m laughing at you. Now you're assuming that all new kids start. Per my previous post. Take a break, and comeback with something out side of what your neighbor or the Tweedy bird told you.

FYI! Charlotte's and Raleigh NC, are 2 of the fastest growing city's in the US. They're always going to get new kids. That's not the reason you guys get put out the playoffs. So stop whining. It’s not a good look for someone who’s username includes Stud. 😂 Richmond's numbers are decreasing, so hopefully they'll eventually get moved down to 3A. Then you can take your cry baby show to the 3A board.

They all four have fed RC directly for years, RC just stopped having 9th grade academy football, and RC has a direct feeder youth program. RC is just losing all their businesses and residents. Charlotte has more RC transplants than maybe any area besides Raleigh. 9th grade academy has a nice field BTW.

Here's more of the actual rule. I dont know certain cases but what happens is that coaches, parents and admin dont know the rules and/or just want to get around it. It amazes me how many rules people just dont know.

This has been the rule for many many years.

If an LEA (thats like the county in most places) assigns a kid to a school they can go there. For example magnet schools or because the older sibling is at a school, or if a kid was at a aschool for years and moved out, many times theyll let em stay to graduate. So thats ok. But if you just transfer within a LEA youre supposed to be meeting this requirement.

Kids just transfer, use different address etc. usually.

4. RESIDENCE: A student is eligible to participate at the school to which he or she is assigned by the local board of education, within the administrative unit of residence. “Residence” as used for athletic eligibility purposes is defined as the equivalent of the term ”domicile“ as applied by the courts of North Carolina. Under no circumstances can a student have more than one residence for eligibility purposes. It is the obligation of the school to know the residence status of each athlete and to require compliance with these requirements. Except as otherwise provided, the residence of any student shall be deemed to be (a) that of his or her parents (if he/she lives with both parents); (b) that of the sole parent (if he/she lives with only one parent); (c) that of the parent with whom he/she spends the majority of nights during the school calendar year (if he/she has two parents who do not live together); or (d) that of the legal custodian if his/her custody has been awarded to a non-parent by a court of competent jurisdiction. In the event the parents are separated or divorced, the residence of the student shall be that of the parent or other adult to whom primary physical custody has been awarded by a court of competent jurisdiction. If no custody order has been entered, the residence shall be deemed to be that of the parent with whom the student spends the majority of nights during the school calendar year. Any change in residence must be bona fide. Determination of what constitutes a bona fide change of residence depends upon the facts of each case. In order for a change of residence to be considered bona fide at least the following facts must exist: (1) The original residence must be abandoned as a residence; that is sold, rented or disposed of as a residence, and must not be used as residence by any member of the family; (2) The entire family must make the change and take with them the household goods and furniture appropriate to the circumstances; (3) The change must be made with the intent that it is permanent. No non-parental guardianship will be recognized where a student has a living parent unless: there has been a determination of abandonment of the student by such parent(s) or a determination that the student is a dependent juvenile as defined in G.S.7A-5 17(13) or comparable statute by a court of competent jurisdiction; or the student has been judicially declared a ward of the court or has been identified as an orphan or placed in a foster home by the Division of Social Services (or a comparable agency if out of state) and custody (not guardianship) has been determined by the court or social service agency. A student whose custody has been established by court order or social services agency decision is eligible for participation at the school to which he or she is assigned by the Board of Education of the local unit where the custodian resides."

One of their best players was DE TJ Smith. Prior to his senior year in high school the father was named the principal at a junior high or elementary school in Colquitt. Smith had played at North Stanly his first three years. He had a very solid career at Arkansas and was on the Vikings active roster last year after a year with the Chargers practice squad. That is three players from Stanly County currently playing DL in the NFL.

Correct!
It has. Yet some people continue to play death ears and make jokes. For now, it is open season. They can run with a lie as we continue to see on this thread, but they cannot hide from the truth. It will catch them.

As this thread grows you will notice that people do not regret doing something, but they will regret getting caught. The mentality have been ignored, allowed and accepted. Nothing is illegal until they get caught.

S2V2! Now you're responding to yourself. You haven't regretted getting caught. " Sweet Jesus" I know your Neighbors are terrified when you come out the house. Save the kids. The only reason this thread is growing, is because you're responding as different people. :) I know the Army gave you 100% disability benefits when you retired. Yo *** is crazy. LMAO!

Anything I post here is based on past experiences I have had. I am no longer involved as I once was but stay on the peripheral of some things.

Residency and eligibility have been sticky subjects for years. Several of the players I saw ruled ineligible were as sensible as possible but did not meet the LEA rules which were discombobulated to start. Others were the LEA rules allowed a student to play. State rules that allowed a eligibility while the LEA did not.

From my time it was the youth coaches that guided players. The parents took their direction from them. Now the parents seem to be the ones that push the agenda. Much more. "my son is...." dictates the process today or so it appears to me.

Just look at where the best youth football was played and you can see a pattern of high school success. The poster that wrote this was spot on. Good youth coaching is a difference maker to getting the player off on the right foot. So much indiviulaized training available today that puts the parent more in the driver seat.

I remember back in the day when I was coaching at JM Robinson where there were two game changing players living in our district but played at Concord. We could have put them with our guys who went 9-2 back to back seasons but lost to that team in final game of regular season. They also won a state title during that time. So, this is a forever thing that will not change. Just coach them up and do the best you can with what you have.

Davie County sometimes gets kids from Rowan county It has happened for decades all over the state and it will not stop guys.
according to your post, kids have been moving from one school to the next for 20-25 years now. Which puts us around year 2000. Then you says its been happening since the 80s? thats about 40+ years ago. Which is it?

Also, you could add numerous other schools to that list. Dudley has been pulling kids from all over Greensboro for the past two decade since they started winning again. Grimsley as of late has been too since they started winning again. its been happening in Charlotte for a long time. and probably every other city, Raleigh, Fayetteville, Wilmington, etc.

I wasn't around when Page was winning in the 80s and 90s, as I was born in 88. So I cannot confirm nor deny what happened back then. But, I do know that Marion Kirby established a culture and tradition and people moved into the district to be a part of it. Page was pretty terrible at football early on when the school was first built. When Kirby took the job he changed the culture and created a place where people wanted to play. I know for sure that Northern Guilford was a totally different situation. A brand new school with no tradition or culture, was instantly a winner who brought in multiple 5* and 4* recruits from other schools in year 1. I won't name names, but the list was very long. They did the same with the basketball program and their championships and wins were vacated. I assume the football program did a better job of covering it up?

Well the stories of Kirby “getting “ kids is well established. But not saying anything about it just saying hey it has been going on for years. And I should say I am a Forsyth county person more than anything g and 20+ years ago they started choice transfer so maybe I should say that’s what I meant. But I have coached in several counties and it goes on everywhere. It is what it is

Yes, He came from S.L...U must b mixed up...The one Im talking about Played at S.L. in 20-21 and then Played at C.G. 21-22.....?????NO SITTIN.........Can U help me with that BOONER....NO SITTIN....Maybe go back and check the rosters....I think , I heard.....that....I might be wrong....
Telling you what I was told and that is one dude. He was not even a full time starter from what I heard. A solid contributor. Damn good, maybe exceptional next year, perhaps a future center peice. But he was not the focal point of the team. IDK. I do know that he is one of very few non catholic school kids and even fewer transfers. I got to know so much about Cardinal Gibbons because my best friends’ son tried to go to Cardinal Gibbons. He got in as a sophomore. He was a football star at A wake county HS and would’ve been at Gibbons. But was told directly, They would love to provide him with a top education, but he would not of be eligible to play until senior year. They decided it was too much time lost. I do know that families who move into the area from out of town or transferring from another private school allowed to play. Southern Lee county is not exactly wake county or Durham, or Granville or Franklin even Johnston. It’s a ways, so maybe it was outside of some geographic range that the high school association put on the school. Not exactly poaching from the local community IMHO. Again One kid. One. One last comment, looking at recruiting at Cardinal Gibbons High School – I think it may be an excellent m return on investment for educational purposes, but not necessarily a big-time scholarship for athletics. They have consistency in the coaching staff. They have established a program, but eventually all good things come to an end.
