Both teams have put up alot of points early on this season and have good athletes. Who wins, and why?

Red Devils....why? Well, my input may not be as educational sounding cause I've only seen West once and not seen NC at all as of yet. Judging from the positive movement and improvement from Newton I'd say they take this one in a nailbitter by 1 score.
West has improved and even though they lost big to Hibriten the score shouldn't reflect how the game went cause defense had a lot of good stops and offense could move the ball but it just wasn't enough. It'll come down to the wire this year. If Beam has the speed on this team and good passing attack that I figure he does then it'll be a W but not by much. Be a game I may just show up and watch. I came last year in the rain and it was good.

N-C will score on West like Hibriten did,,,,but Newtons defense has not played a mobile qb yet....the Asheville qb wasn't as mobile as I thought he would be but Newtons pass defense is much better than last year's team...one player will not beat Newton but he can keep it close...Newton by 10
This is a must win for the Red Devils after a soft non conference schedule. This is the beginning of a long stretch that needs momentum going into Maiden, Lincolnton, and East Lincoln games. Yes all conference games are important but they get much tougher than West Caldwell down the road.

This is prob the most interesting and most unpredictable game going on this Friday as far as this area goes.

If you wanna think of Beams logic of playing Highland Tech id say it was to build confidence and practice plays preparing them for important games rather than just raggin him for cupcake schedule. I think he'll have his players ready. Expect a BurkeForReal appearance, ya'll come say hi, seriously.

Ur funny Pats lol, but ur still cool in my book. I've bout wrote EB off for the year after seeing the Hibriten massacre. Didn't see the game but they did win this Friday against what is usually a weak ER team. They're both identical kinda. Explosive and deep playoff run one year and 5 or 6 year drought follows. Of course for EB it may be longer. At least ER has athletes and some speed.
Someone talkin bout a one man show earlier Id say Shatley was one of the best deals I seen in 2007. Of course he had an Oline to help and alittle D but they wouldn't have won 4 or 5 of those games that year if he wasn't present. Not taking anything from Titus or Farley cause they are fun to watch. I just like super star brama bull RBs. Kayonte Moore(Freedom 98')was the last one I saw in area before Shatley came around.

Well we were just brifley on one man shows so I guess I thought fit to mention him. Funny how nobody said that bout ELincoln when Surrat was under center. Team was just good all around in every facet but hit a brick wall when they lined up with Monroe the next game after pounding East Burke.
I observed Farley Friday at South. Run run run run, pass, run, run pass. Surely this guy runs 200, 400 meter dash for track team. If not he ought to.

Burke's not coming to Lawndale. Mapquest can't locate Icard much less Lawndale.

With our Wolves on a bye week this would be a game worth seeing(scouting) just to see what the hype is at N-C with Beam and co or to see if WC is in fact a one player show...but that drive will unfortunately have me showing face at East Lincoln for their little sparring match with Bandys before our showdown in Denver next Friday....
In years past this would be a game dreaded tremendously by EL players and fans. I guess when tables turn they turn buddy. Bandys has produced NFL player(s). Not sure if the Tallent level just got drained or kids that are game changers are roaming the halls and just not interested.
They defeated what I believe is prob the worst South Caldwell team in YEARS!! And lost to Foard. I'd take it easy on the starters for that one if I was EL coaches lol
Bandys football and wrestling is dismal. I don't know about this past year but they never even hired a wrestling coach for about five years. Community volunteers took that role. Once a state power in wrestling has come to a last place finish. One fourth of the weight classes are vacant. Football has less numbers but those who typically went out are staying away so the quality is down. Not much coming down the pipe.
Newton middle has a new coach who is a Newton homegrown guy. They beat Hickory yesterday 36-0 and have yet to take a loss. It may be picking up for Newton. Middle school is not always a good indicator but at least they don't limit the squad to one bus or 35 kids like the county does. Cutting kids in middle school is just plain ignorant.

Yes it was me at the East vs East game last year. I've met many of the posters but none of the Burns guys. I do know who Rev is but we have not met in person.
