Wifey in Florida, packing up the in-laws **** as they're too old, frail and cheap to do it any other way... they done.

So - Day 2 of 5 in my MrMom extendo weekend from Hell.

I scream too much at kids & dog, but eff them. My house was spotless Thursday- today it is destryed.

I made meatballs/braciole/sauce whilst trying to potty train and terrorize my 3yo. My 12 yo is a PITA who won't assist the efforts. Dog is an asshat.

This **** is taxing.

They snowbird from Louisville/FtMyers...half year each.

The old man is 87, mom 85. They are moving home to Louisville to wither away. My FIL is a Polio survivor with half his right side wiped with advanced age- he really can't move.

It's sad.

Nope. They are flatly against AL. They're killing my wife to move back down to assist & slave. With a 3-yo, that **** would be impossible.

They have granny nannies over for tasks/bathing help.

I dunno.
Man that's tough. I'll never have to worry about the ravages of old age (longevity ain't in my genes), but if by some miracle I make that far, I hope I don't get stubborn and refuse to go into AL.

My 12 yo was at camp last week. It was very relaxing having her out of the house. Wife picked her up Friday. Walked past the car and started bringing her stuff inside. It reeked. I washed her nasty *** shoes twice and put them out in the sun today.

She ate 3 hostess cakes today and put the empty wrappers back in the box.

Damn, Kooky. Rough weekend for ya brah. As much as it sucks, it may be better that they go to Louisville ALF. At least they will get someone to help them with their needs. Aging sucks honestly. Just wish it wasn't so freaking debilitating

Yep. The old man is mentally slipping as well - whereas, the MIL is still sharp as a tack...and sees the end clearly. Not sure which is a worse way.

Yeah, not sure which is worse either. Just hang in there. The most important thing is that they will get the care they need. We can't help the medical breakdowns of the body, but we can help with their ability to be cared for. I feel for ya man

Insomnic and watching Rush Time Machine on MTVL. Alex Lifeson's name ain't tossed around a lot when the subject of "great guitarists" is brought up, but that badass mofo can play in my band any time.
Agree. I think he gets overlooked because of the other guys in that band. I've seen them live twice. They are a great live band (Geddy's voice is deeper live, than on the radio).

I think I have a DVD of that concert that you watched.

I once shoved a sour warhead up the *** end off a resees cup. Rewrapped it nicely and gave it to dickhead father in law. He was very happy with the gesture. He then proceeded to shove the whole damn thing in his fat *** mouth and started to chew it. His facial expression once the extreme sour hit was priceless. He then went to the bathroom and upchucked. WW3 then ensued between him, the ole lady and I. I would do it 1000 more times to the bastard if I could. Lol

Ditto.

Are they moving to assisted living?

The national median monthly rate for a one-bedroom unit in an assisted living facility is $3,500, according to the 2014 Cost of Care Survey released in April by Genworth Financial Inc. of Richmond, Virginia. That's $42,000 per year, an increase of 1.45 percent over 2013.Jun 30, 2014 (3 year old figures.)

That's a lot of money for someone with limited means.

Kooky, i think Austin and i were talking about all of us NOB'ers chipping in and buying a small building and retro fitting that thing to being an ALF
About 15-20 years ago, I some of the nursing faculty up here started an assisted living facility. From what I heard about it, it was well liked. The problem was that they did not do everything according to the regulations and got shut down.

I went on a few calls to the place when I was on the fire department here. We always called it the raisin ranch.
