Literally…. Take a crap in a hat and whatever you pull out is exactly as accurate as this. What a waste of effort.
I just dont understand why they just dont ask our opinions about who should be ranked where.

i like it — the mathematical formula, and what it prioritizes, makes sense. i definitely prefer this vs maxpreps and/or them (nchsaa) just drawing names out of a hat in tiebreaker situations.

Nobody should be getting up in arms over the current standings. They are a work in progress as the season goes on. Look at Brian Simmons' ratings. He gets more accurate as the year goes on. Give this system time.
I agree, I think eventually this RPI thing will work out.....but its really early. Some teams have only played a couple of games. Lets give it till closer till the end and see how it pans out.
sounds about right given their current resume. it’ll adjust if/when robbinsville gets back on the field and plays some games.
It will shake out as the season progresses. everybody relax lol. of course its not accurate after only a few games.
and the fact that covid has thrown nearly everyone’s schedule to hell
Very good article. South Point at # 10 is laughable, even for me. They my end up there or higher but at this point the only good team they’ve played was Hickory Ridge. South Point lost that one by 20 and it looked and felt like 40. Like I posted last year, win baby, don’t worry about rankings. If you win everything else will take care of itself.
The prequel to this article should be titled: Why You Shouldn’t Even Publish The RPI Ratings System Until Later In The Year
Spot on, right now they are just a number. Blows my mind that so many get their panties in a wad over such a trivial thing this early in the season. Then again ego's are comical to me also. Personally, I always preferred being the underdog because it makes a bigger statement when you defy the experts. Just win and don't worry about the rankings! lol
#7...eehhh... may be correct... We're new to the 3A, but never heard much about teams 1-6... except for 71st... and I think we may have them beat...but as far as everyone else... I have no clue.... but we'll take it...in my opinion the only numbers that matters is the score in the state champion game...everything else is just talk.
