I agree. Flip Princeton and Swain and it would look good. Brian is right up there with one other fan in NC with the amount of work he puts into his football knowledge.
NCHSAA should take Maxpreps, NCPreps, Simmons and CarolinaPreps, average them and use that for their rankings.

Every team has to be ranked to use fir playoff seeding. NC Preps only does the top 8.

The adjusted rankings is a joke. Not just because they have Mitchell low either...
I think the frustrating thing is that they are quite different than the regular Maxpreps rankings and there’s no justification as to why. What criteria determines changes from regular Maxpreps? Why the lack of transparency? I understand Maxpreps has a “trademarked” formula that they won’t release, but why won’t the NCHSAA release their justifications behind their differences?

Simmons looks the most accurate overall to me, although I think Swain is too low.

Of course in the end only one will count Nchsaa adjusted. But at least 1A rankings are closer together the they are in 2A right now for example Midway is #32 & #40 in Maxprep & Simmons but #8 in Adjusted and Anson is #6 & #7 in the other two but #25 in adjusted.

NCHSAA has the winning margin aka score differential removed. I thought they should have used 20 to 22 points. Thought this was the only item they had changed which happened after the initial season started if I am not mistaken.

The winning margin should not count. Forfeits and running clocks hurt some teams. A forfeit counts as a Two to Zero win.

Tarboro’s out of conference schedule is really helping them.

Washington 6-1
Northern Nash 5-2

Does anyone know how the adjusted ratings are even done? Or does the state just do it with everyone in the dark!

Don't know thier exact mathematical formula but they take the Maxprep computer rankings and send them to a San Francisco-based company that stores schedules, rosters and stats online then they provide an adjusted number to the NCHSAA each week. One thing they do take out is margin of victory.

They won't say. Coaches have asked time and time again. They even have put Que on the spot at the coaches clinic before and they won't say. Its a bit like the BCS.

Looks about right to me, my team is where they should be , 11th or 12th. I know we have heard it all year but the cards are for real and a real threat to the vikes. Coming to the swain Murphy game to get a look at these two up close. Also lot of interest in the heritage and Mitchell game. If Mitchell goes and Murphy go big this year the west is a dog fight. If east Surry gets pushed east it’s a travesty.
