We need to get the top schools from the east and the west together and have a week 1 showdown between teams. Kind of like the ACC/Big 10 challenge in college basketball. Wouldn't that be cool to pair up Shelby, Burns, Reidsville, Salisbury, Monroe, Maiden, etc with the Eastern Powers of WRH, East Duplin, Clinton, Princeton etc. Yes it would be a lot of travel but man it would be fun. You could alternate years you were home and away.

The best idea I have ever heard concerning HS football. Have a real championship game like college. Instead have 16 teams instead of4. Talk about making money.

They should just have a bracket from the state champs:
4a vs 1a
2a vs 3a
Winners play each other for another state title. True unified title.
Just take field size down to top 16 teams in each division to allow for extra game

I've thought about that too. But man, the 4A vs 1A (and probably 2A) would be pretty bad.

Depends on the years. I know for sure Shelby and Reidsville has couple teams that could have competed with the 4a winners. Easily the 3a winners
