But but but, I thought they couldn't beat a 4a team. Thought they were going to lose in 1st round.

Scotland’s starting QB was out (don’t say anything bears fan that was your reasoning for the lost to Rose). New Bern threw ball on Scotland and was able to get to the edge. As a non resident of Scotland Co. I don’t know if the Scots have been able to get in the weight room like Craven Co schools were/are able to. I say this from my naked eye the Scots did not posses the same speed they typically have. The Bears ran their triple along with the toss and belly very well.

Just my take from the fence

Hey Billy! Help me out here, did #6 for Scotland help guide the team to a State Title a few years back? This wasn’t his first start. And we actually preferred to play #12 as we thought we could generate pressure from the middle with #10 as their original QB was more of a pocket passer rather than a runner. Also, that wasn’t the “reasoning for the lost”, merely pointing out throwing out the SR QB (wrongly) changed the landscape of the game as the backup had never started a game. NB has shown they can throw the ball lately and they executed it flawlessly last night.

Scotland has been down in size the since the 2017 4A title run, but not being able to get in the weight room certainly didn’t help them this season.

#6 would have been a freshman the year they lost to Harding.

#6 led the team in passing in 2018.

He was tied for the most receiving TD's on the team in 2019

He came in last week against JB and sparked the offense with a 34-yard TD run right off the bat.

Kid has a lot of game experience.

Great game by the Bears last night. Coach Nowell took over a 2-win team just two years ago and has them playing deep into the playoffs for the second straight year. Lotta young talent on the squad, gonna be a fun next few years in The Bern.

New Bern was so good under Coach Curlings. Good to see them getting back to normal. Craven County still is one of the best if not the best counties in the state for HS football. Havelock and NB looked really impressive last night. Scotland will be fine in 3A. It's a good move for them since they have been playing with 3A numbers the past few years.

I went to the JB vs Scots game Scotland had zero offence until the back up QB came in.
