I agree. The odds of Kraft being this incompetent are so slim that I have to believe there is somebody on board.
So historically tell me where he has shown competence in any of his hires at prior jobs? Much less how many has he actually hired in terms of a high profile position? the number appears to be less than 1.....change my mind

If he is truly not incompetent then he is sorely out of his depth to handle this situation

The only thing that possible makes sense is that the person has agreed to take the job but is in the CFP and wants to wait until that concludes - or Kraft f'ed this up to holy hell and there is zero interest in this job but with the money they have that makes no sense.
To me that has always made the most sense. He easily could have hired dozens of coaches worth a shot by now. Watching this meltdown has been comical. Of course, if he's really that incompetent, it won't be so funny.

There is no way someone is on board in the playoffs if they were waiting on BYU guy yesterday. Just doesn't add up. Get down to Louisville and get Brohm. You will never win less than 10 games. He has never had elite talent and all he does is win and outcoach the opponent more often than not.

Kraft could hire Mr. Hanky from South Park and at PC he would try to make it sound like he got his guy he wanted all along and that it wasn’t a **** hire

Theres a future potential reality where James Franklin is remembered as the winner of this divorce.
Eh, he got us this recruiting cycle. And everyone knows Franklin's best attribute is the offseason. But he's coaching at a dogshit program. Wait til game day, that's when he does his worst work.

By the way, anyone see the news Franklin is targeting Howle as his OC? I mean, that's James Franklin in a nutshell. Hire a first-time playcaller and try and figure out all season what your team's identity is.

Yeah, reminds me of that scene in Bloodsport where one guy shows off by smashing a brick with his hands and Bolo Yeung says, 'Very good - but brick not hit back.' James is smashing bricks right now. We'll hit back soon.

Howle will most likely be a good play-caller. Small sample size, but he did well when he had the opportunity to take over play calling.

I am a Kentucky fan, and more so a college football fan. Why you havent went 100% after Brohm yet is crazy. The dude can flat out coach. He got caught off guard this year with injuries everywhere and a QB that didnt work out great from portal, but the dude can coach and gets the most out of his players.
He has always been my 2nd choice behind Urban Meyer.. I Would take Brohm in a second!

With PSU resources, he would be in the playoffs just about every damn year

At this point I would love for them to go back to Urban and work out the differences to bring him on board.

I like him too, but he'd be our coach by now if they wanted him.

With Hartline gone, I want to believe this. I think the likelihood of him being this stupid is incredible. What keeps me pessimistic is Penn state has exceeded its allotment of very stupid people over the last 15 years
Oh O think there is room for one more.

But Kraft looks like he’s working on making Penn State one too.

that narrative doesn't hold any water. See Kiffin, Hartline, Stein, Morris, Sumerall. Who is on your list that this would be?

1764779192856.png

Lest go down the list of HC's to consider [caveat that any Coordinators at these schools could be targets but Hartline and Stein show most likely not]

So Not ==>Lanning, Day, Smart, Cignetti, Freeman, Elko, Kiffin, Mcguire

also not in consideration as they have Playoff hopes in the 11 and 12 seed spots Chesney, Sumerall, Sitake, Morris

so you mean to tell me our chances at current HC's that have playoffs on the horizon are

Diaz, Cristoball, Deboer, Venables, Elliot?

Thats who you are suggesting we have in the fold because they don't want to announce till playoffs are over?

so tell me of those guys who has a legit shot at an NC maybe Bama, the others can announce easily tthat they took the PSU job with out any impact on their playoff hopes

so lets also add and that:
1) excludes Venables who signed an extension to 29

2) excludes Cristoball
1764780482432.png
3) maybe Elliot He earns a contract extension if he wins his 10th game....are we waiting for that as in he wins 10 he wants to stay at UVA and burn your hypothetical offer in his hand? Come on lets be real here

4)maybe Diaz for ties back to PSU but he has bad blood history with Kraft , but ok why not announce he is hired already that really going to impact Duke?

5) Leaving us only with Deboer (per your suggestion) who would leave Bama to go to PSU dependent upon his playoff outcome? I'll leave this here

Let's examine the short list of coaches who want to come in and take over a program with no recruits in the entire class, a ton of seniors leaving, and half of what's left portaling out in a few weeks...I got Terry Smith and nobody else, literally. Hire him today and then fire this clown Kraft
So we were better off with Franklin?

I used to ask the Franklin haters, to name a better coach that actually wants the job. Usually got crickets. Occasionally I would hear rhule. Lol.

I think he is just really incompetent. Why would any coach not announce and let the whole class crumble?

I’m starting to the think that if he were truly staying at BYU that would be been made public today …

To imply that members of the home grown terrorists 2011 Board of Trustees were simply stupid is an insult to stupid people….

Agreed, but Meyer would probably demand that Kraft and his staff be fired, Neeli be fired, and the BOT be tossed out at first opportunity. I'd be on board with that, but they wouldn't.
