Also to go against my own point, this was a unique hire for UK. Steins dad played at UK. I think his mom went to UK as well. Will was a Louisville QB. He has strong area ties. In fairness, maybe he wanted this job over bigger opportunities. I just think PSU is light years ahead of UK and I’m disappointed that we would need to fight UK for a coach.

Many of you spent the last 12 years crying about Franklin's compensation, extensions and buyout. Pretty much everyone is against the way Kiffen left Ole Miss while the team is still in the playoffs. Many of the terms seem to be pro coach and screw the team.
What IF the holdup is Kraft trying to negotiate out some of the BS terms ? Would it be unreasonable for an AD to require a coach to stay through the playoffs?
We obviously need to cast a wider net. I am not saying we need to lower the standard but maybe simply bring in a coach a year before they are really ready. Maybe the guy is ready but not yet the big name. There is a Chesney every year. Maybe bring in next years Chesney this year. I dont think anyone is walking away from an $9M raise. If the agent is a prick then leak the offer to the wife.

That sounds like an excuse to me, much like the Meyer excuses that he didn’t answer questions on NIL to Kraft’s liking. BS. I don’t care how the guy interviews. If he can coach, he can coach.

You're way off base dude. The head football coach at BYU is not a church calling. Callings in the LDS church are unpaid volunteer callings that members are encouraged but not mandated to accept.
He needs to hire an OC that is easy to blame and fire when things don't quite work out for BGJ.

It does. I remember how apoplectic the message boards got. IIRC, Billo wasn't hired until late in the cycle, then insisted on coaching out the year with the Patriots. I will reserve judgement on Kraft until we find out who the coach actually is.

plethora of injuries. ACC player of year preseason RB barely played. Top two RB's behind him all hurt. Against Kentucky they played walkons and RB and two WR spots and two spots on defense due to injuries

We’re either hiring Brohm or he played it perfectly to wait for maximum leverage before agreeing to an extension. He’s overdue for one so he’s going to be signing something in the next few days.
I don't know how much better that may make things, but I can 1,000% guarantee it would not make them worse.
