It’s worded incorrectly, but it’s literally the only thing that we actually know for certain - other coaches have successfully leveraged the Penn State coaching search to benefit themselves.
We dont know that anyone other than Elko was actually a candidate. Others using our opening or Eli using Florida doesn't mean they were candidates.
The Cignetti raise was performance based not because Penn State wants him
Coaches leverage everything to benefit themselves so why do people keep trying to make this a big deal. We aren't chasing every coach...maybe we should have but we didn't.

First - Why the personal insults? You have no clue who I am or how much money I’ve donated to PSU over the past several decades.

Second - My point, which I guess escaped your comprehension*, is that if I feel this way, so, too, do tens of thousands of other alums who also might not donate.

*Comprehension is the action or capability of understanding something.
Yeah, I think that after more than a decade the university has proven they can exist without you and your "donations". It is a common bandwagon that many have jumped on claiming there is huge untapped wealth if only ......

Put up some verifiable information about this great wealth in donations or STFU about it. Not 23 fans claiming to be withholding fortunes.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw (insert potential coach's name here) at the (insert State College location here).

I don’t think someone had to be a "candidate" to take advantage of the situation, although it might have made it easier. On an aside - what exactly does "candidate" even mean these days?

Anyway, it is all business now and I don’t fault anyone for doing what they think is best for themselves and their families. But how things are done still matters. A lot.

Word I’ve gotten is that the Laginas are represented by Jimmy Sexton and that they may be moving on to the search for Hitler. I’m not certain, it’s just what I’m hearing from my source.
Oh yeah? My sources tell me that what we really should be focused on is the Loch Ness monster, or Bigfoot (or is it Big Foot?).

I should warn you that I’m off today, the weather sucks, and my wife is out of town, so I have all day….

Campbell, then possibly Diaz - the defense would improve. Both have staff and recruits they might bring along. No to Daboll. Campbell makes 5 mil a year and is extended through 2032. But only a 2 mil buy out. Campbell grew up in Ohio and also coached at Toledo for 5 years before going to Iowa State. So he is familiar with the recruiting area. Plus he can still play rival Iowa if he comes here....he beat them this year.
I'd offer Campbell 11.5m and double his current salary pool for assistants. He shouldve been top 3 candidate from the start.

Weird Al needs to PSU parody "I Can't Make You Love Me" for all the top coaches out there apparently.

I've seen others post, guys that have had inside scoop in the past, that Ruhle absolutely was a target, but after the Minnesota game the donors said no way. Who knows who really, was is, etc.. we'll never know the complete truth. Of course when they finally do hire someone we'll hear how he was the top target all along
, lol

He wasn't. Rhule was never a target...people, including insiders, assumed so because of his ties to Penn State and Kraft...but fair enough on we'll never know the complete truth.
Oh I'm sure...they could hire me or you and claim we were always the plan

Can someone, anyone, please translate this for me? I think it’s supposed to be an insult but I’m not sure.

Oh, and for future reference, the period goes inside the quotes.

Next time, we’ll cover what an ellipse is…

I’ve heard from my source that Sexton represents Foot and is negotiating a contract with him moving to Scotland, possibly on the banks of Loch Ness.

I am old fashioned. I think that is a good thing, or I would be something else.

If Sitake gave Kraft his word or a handshake, and then went the other way, thats bad on his part. I know many of you think otherwise.

I have had men do a 180 on verbal promises they have made to me. I have always chosen to not do business with them again. Why? I don’t care what lawyers put into writing. Situations will always come up that fall in the cracks, and when they do character, trust, and past actions will cause good men to do the right thing. People lacking those qualities prove it by their actions. You are better off keeping them out of your business life.

And he has a history of giving Iowa fits every year when they play each other.
Yeah, as a Hawkeye fan, would be fine seeing him go. (although outside the big ten would be better)

Really fundamentally sound team, almost always well prepared. Well coached, in other words. Think he'd be pretty successful anywhere you give him the resources.

That’s Mr. Foot to you. Or maybe Coach Foot?

Either way, we could do worse.

You are both wrong. Kraft is very close to finding out who actually shot JFK, finding Jimmy Hoffa, and who is actually buried in Grant's Tomb. I have impeccable sources, which of course I can not reveal.
Ohhhhhh, so THAT’S why we don’t have a coach yet. Thanks PA geo. It all makes sense now.

Let me give it a shot. The poster was saying that many people over the past decade have stated that they are no longer donating to PSU/Athletics in hopes the lack of donations would somehow influence what is happening at PSU/Athletics that they didn't like. However, over the past decade PSU/Athletics is still going strong and they are doing whatever they want regardless of the lack of donations from said posters withholding their donations. Secondly, unless you are donating a substantial amount to PSU where you may potentially have some influence, say $100K or more or some sort of endowment, then you really have no influence and your words are pretty much empty threats and meaningless to PSU/Athletics. Lastly, from what I understand about philanthropy at PSU, it is mostly the people that give the least that complain the most. So STFU - "posters words, not mine" - Hope this helps. 🤑 🤷‍♂️

All it did was confirm to me the shortcomings of AI.
AI is only as good as the data that feed it. A chatbot is merely using information it can acquire from the internet, which—no surprise—only includes names that have been circulated on the internet in association with the PSU job opening. The interesting thing about these chatbots is that we are approaching a point when they can only marginally improve over previous generations because we're running out of new data to train them with. There is a finite limit to the amount of data we have collected and recorded as a human race.

You really going to go there? As a lawyer I have dealt with agents; not football ones of course. However, I never met one who told a client to not sign a deal because the agent was pissed with the way someone treated another of his clients. Easily the most asinine and naive post of the day.
Agree - I think the definition of an agent is to do the best for your client and make them the most money - and of course then the agent makes the most money so it is also self serving.

Everybody....please understand!!!!

Pat Kraft is playing 5D chess here. His plan to bankrupt dozens of other institutions by making them massively overpay their coaches is working like a charm!

Thanks, TBU (can I call you that?) That’s what I thought. I don’t speak gibberish.
