Do you personally know him? Why are you so passionate about Bob Chesney? Genuinely curious, not trying to argue.
Because he is from Shamokin. They also wanted Rhule, Golden, and think Sandusky is innocent.

This is not what I was referring to before as an insider source, but this is the only thing I found that’s not behind a paywall:
Sure would be a big shock to the CFB world. Talk about a HR.Well, those who wanted smoke screens are getting for certain right now: While we are all talking about Chesney, the other sites pay board is now ten pages deep with KDB, saying it's a done deal...
Might not be up to the next coach. Might be Terry’s call to leave if offered by Franklin and he’s not certain there’s a spot for him in the new regime.Does Chesney keep Terry. Under no circumstance can PSU allow Terry to go to VA Tech. The optics of that alone would be a killer in recruiting and with the former players.
I said this days ago. He interviewed and it was a very good interview. But Chesney had a not in person interview and knocked it out of the park. Then he had an in person interview and supposedly did even better. Who will it be, I give up, but the safe money seems to be on Chesney. It will be nuts between now and December 1. Will probably hear other names as well. There looks like there is actual mutual interest coming back from Debeor, much more tangible than there was from Elko before he he came to new terms with TX AM. Not an insider, but reading insiders from various sources out there today.
But what does the wife look likeChesney is Catholic, of Lithuanian descent and from PA coal country. Looks the part too. (The wife said he is by far the best-looking candidate!) What's not to like?

Insiders are getting this from members of the BOT buzzing about KDB. If it’s him, it is the best possible outcome, far better than Elko. I love the fact that he develops quarterbacks. I’m just puzzled by the fact that he would think we are any less Cray Cray than Bama but maybe we are. Insider boards also said weeks ago that we would be led down the road of other candidates while the real candidate was being worked out. Maybe that happened. Or maybe this is all smoke. Again, I am no insider at all, but getting info off the paywall boards.Well, those who wanted smoke screens are getting for certain right now: While we are all talking about Chesney, the other sites pay board is now ten pages deep with KDB, saying it's a done deal...
Stats 101? Is 6-6 the most likely outcome for Penn State, when three OOC games are against overmatched opponents, and at least 2 to 3 conference games are also against overmatched opponents?Stats 101.
6-6 is the MOST likely outcome. Half the D1 coaches will actually average 6-6 or WORSE.
No matter what he will not go to VT. If not a coach at PS he will be in an admin role of some sort at PS within the program.Does Chesney keep Terry. Under no circumstance can PSU allow Terry to go to VA Tech. The optics of that alone would be a killer in recruiting and with the former players.

I like Chesney, but I think he’s way too risky for PSU with the current rules and timeline. And I believe Kraft indicated himself that it was going to be a p4 head coach from the beginning.I said this days ago. He interviewed and it was a very good interview. But Chesney had a not in person interview and knocked it out of the park. Then he had an in person interview and supposedly did even better. He would be smart to keep Terry, but that is if Terry would stay.Does Chesney keep Terry. Under no circumstance can PSU allow Terry to go to VA Tech. The optics of that alone would be a killer in recruiting and with the former players.
What are you talking about? I haven't picked Penn State to beat a top 10 team in over a decade, except maybe Utah in the Rose Bowl (not sure if Utah was top 10 at the time). I'm almost always right about that. I did pick Penn State to beat UCLA and Northwestern this year. That admittedly didn't work out too well. You pick the team to beat OSU every season and win the natty. How is that working out?
Can't let that happen. Up his salary and do what is needed to keep him.He would be smart to keep Terry, but that is if Terry would stay.
1. He may feel wronged if he’s passed over for the head coaching job, especially if they win out
2. He may feel out of place with all of Chesney’s guys around him. May feel more comfortable going down to Blacksburg to work with famliar faces.
Terry should stay on in some capacity, if he chooses. Im hoping he finds a role with the new staff. He would be smart to keep Terry, but that is if Terry would stay.

You know there is a Paterno connection with Chesney. Jay was a QB coach at JMU
That’s an A-hole statementBecause he is from Shamokin. They also wanted Rhule, Golden, and think Sandusky is innocent.

If Kraft is smart he would keep them in the dark and thinking the wrong things as long as possible until he needs to say, alright here is the real deal. Maybe already at that point.Insiders are getting this from members of the BOT buzzing about KDB. If it’s him, it is the best possible outcome, far better than Elko. True, but give our fans a real taste of success and they can be there really quick. If you don't think we're less cray cray than Bama, you've not stepped over the Mason Dixon line.
"The SEC. It just means more" is not just a catch phrase.

What if Penn State has no coach when Franklin inevitably offers him a position? No matter what he will not go to VT. If not a coach at PS he will be in an admin role of some sort at PS within the program.

I would be happy with Deboer or Chesney.I said this days ago. He interviewed and it was a very good interview. But Chesney had a not in person interview and knocked it out of the park. Then he had an in person interview and supposedly did even better. Who will it be, I give up, but the safe money seems to be on Chesney.
Not a playoff lock. How is DeBoer in play? Right now, bama is a playoff lock. The timing to get DeBoer doesn’t work.
l call bullsh|t on DeBoer. It’s going to be nardoozie.
I mentioned yesterday that Fisch is Florida's back up to Kiffin. If Fisch leaves Washington you can be sure they would gladly welcome Deboer back.He might get the chance, Fisch is supposedly Florida’s backup plan after Kiffin.
Very good friend of mine is a big Bama guy (lives up in Philly area)Just a different shade of crazy here in Happy Valley.

ExactlyI really like this post, especially the allusion to risk. The biggest deterrent to risk taking is fear of failure. I have witnessed "fear of failure" stifle good organizations but it is very difficult to overcome. It requires a delicate balance between "rewarding" failure and recklessness. Take risks, and if you fail, start over and move on. The problem is this. What is Penn State's level of "fear of failure" and will it impede the search?
